I can't believe it!

Well, First I want say sorry for not logging in for a while. I have been working lots of non-day shifts & have not really been on the computer very much. (Just tooo tired.)
I have said in the past that I would not go back to WDW in the fall due to the heat. But now I guess I have to eat my words because last night, my DBF told me to call & book a week in September!! I just can't believe that we are actually going again. Also I'm not too sure about going in the heat, but nothing can spoil my anticipation right now. I'm so excited!

How wonderful that you'll be going back! I've said many times that I won't go back in June/July/August but should the opportunity present itself, like it did for you, I would jump right on it.

Re: I can't believe it!

Hot days are easy to beat. Just plan your cool down times with attraction times. Here is how I beat the heat. These are the attractions to hit when you need to just cool off, rest and not fight a line.

MK:

Mickey's Philharmagic - The cue is almost never to the outside during September. If you miss the show in front of you, you are going to get 10-15 minutes of air-conditioned cool down time.
Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor - This one you want to time so that you get inside while waiting for the next show.
Hall of Presidents - If the doors are open, you can go inside and wait for the next show.

Epcot:

Ellen's Energy Adventure - If you get there when they are just closing the doors for the previous group, you will get 35-40 minutes of peaceful AC time.
American Adventure - Always open and almost always nearly empty. A shame too, it's a great presentation.
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience - Inside cue for next show is air conditioned.

Animal Kingdom:

Conservation Station - Not only can you cool off here, but, the rain forest rooms are almost always empty.
It's Tough To Be a Bug - During September, you won't have to wait outside for the next show.
Festival of the Lion King - Show up 5-10 minutes before the show is about to start, and you will get inside right away with no outside waiting. This show typically doesn't fill up during September.

Hollywood Studios:

Great Movie Ride - During this time of the year, the entire cue will be inside.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid - It won't be packed if you time your entrance 5-10 minutes before show time. Plus, the special effects of the show will cool you off even more.
One Man's Dream - Never crowded and it has a lot of interesting little things to see if you take your time.

Re: I can't believe it!

Hooray, that is great news! I'm sure you'll be so excited to be there again that you won't even notice the heat after a while.

P.S. Those are great suggestions, tonyksl!

Re: I can't believe it!

I see you're in Canada, so the Florida temps in September may be overwhelming to you, but we have found that September is our favorite time weather wise. I even thought that October was more humid than September! But, if you take tonyksl's advice, you can cool off occasionally!

Re: I can't believe it!

You are right that I happen to find it way hot, for some reason my son seems to not deal with it either. (He really sweats it up in the heat.) Anyway, thanks for the tips, I will plan to make use of the ideas if it becomes unbearable. One of the main reasons that we were a little turned off from our first encounter with the September heat, is that we were there during hurricane Jeanne & man it was sooo humid! We were totally dead by 1 or 2 PM each day. We do have heat like that in Canada believe it or not, it just doesn't seem as humid (for so long).

I can imagine that the humidity is much worse in Florida than in Canada! We live just north of Charlotte, NC, and it can be pretty humid in the summer here, but NOTHING like Orlando!

Re: I can't believe it!

Yep, that's the only reason we are going to try & brave the heat!!
(It's not often you hear a statement like that..."brave the cold", maybe, "brave the heat"... not often).

Re: I can't believe it!

Oh, another thing that I'm very excited about is that we were able to get our resort of choice ( ASMovies). We stayed at CBR last December & were slightly dissappointed. I know that may sound strange to most of you, but we were unable to get cold wraps & sandwiches to take back to our room at their foodcourt, also we just didn't find the room up to par. It needed fresh carpet (among other things).
Anyway,... I am really glad to be going back to ASM. We aren't in the room that much, so space is not really an issue. That was the big positive thing about CBR.
