bounce back

We are headed to DW during free dining this year. What are the odds of being offered a bounce back deal? Also must we bounce back at the same time of year or can we go during any value season? (I am hoping for the first week in December)Thanks!

I noticed the last few times I've been, there has been a large stopwatch brochure with the rabbit from Alice and Wonderland that says "DON'T BE LATE" and it offers a 30-40% discount if you book for and I believe pay for your return visit then and there . . . NO FREE DINING, just a discount for a return trip!

I think rlb is referring the free dining bounce back that was offered last free dining time.

I think the chances are decent. You do have to book for the time frame specified on the deal. Last summer it was between 8/30-9/30 and at specific resorts. I am taking a stroll over to POFQ to see if it's offered there at all during my stay and bringing the extra $200 so I have a deposit this time..lol

Re: bounce back

Looks like they're trying to drive advanced bookings with bounceback reduced rates and are trying to break free of free dining, although as others have noted, we've only seen free dining in late August/September and they've been paring back the actual dates it's offered when they do.
Of course, with the economy tanking again, who knows what they'll do to keep rooms and parks filled next year and the year after.
(There's a cheerful thought )

This was there when we were there in Feb...it seems like a pretty standard bounceback offer and I think the chances of you at least getting something like this in your room are very good!

As for a bounceback with free dining...I definitely wouldn't rule out the possibility. As soundgod said, I think Disney may have to start stepping back up again with offers like that to fill their rooms soon, with the way the economy is going.

Re: bounce back

We are bouncing back for the second time this year. Each year, we book our trip prior to leaving WDW, and have gotten free dining. This isn't the same free dining offered to the general public, so the dates are different. Like Dana said, I think you have to check in prior to 9/30, you have to pay a deposit on the upcoming trip before you check out and it is only good for specific resorts. Last year we stayed at POR, this year we will be at Pop. So, check your calendar before you go!!

Re: bounce back

They've done the free dine bounceback during the last 2 or 3 years. They don't always call it free dining, but that is what it is.

I'd be surprised if they didn't this year - I was on free dine last year, but did not do the bounceback (without the gratuities and appetizer included, I wasn't sure it would be enough of a value for me).

Re: bounce back

Thanks for the info everyone...and maybe we will see some very good deals coming our way since the economy is in the shape it is. I just drove past the gas station and prices had went up to $3.84 a gallon today here! I'm going to try and get my plane ticket this week for Aug/Sept while I can still get it for under $400!

Re: bounce back

One thing to keep in mind if you're driving to or around WDW, since Hess took over the service centers from ExxonMobil the price of gas is lower there than it is on the street. Especially on SR 535/ Apopka-Vineland Rd. around I-4!!!
