IMHO, POP does not even hold a candle to POR. You are going to love it there! It is just beautiful - and you will love the boat to DTD!

I agree, you will absolutely fall in love with POR - especially in comparison to POP! It just has so much more to offer...even in ambiance alone!

Re: How is the Port Orleans Riverside?

We really liked POR when we stayed there. The resort has a really nice feel to it, and the pool was a lot of fun. I would recommend an upstairs room if you can handle the stairs. We got a little tired of hearing the water run through the pipes in the walls and other various things associated with water in a room, as we were on the lower floor. You'll really enjoy the resort!

tiki, POR is fabulous... a family fave (see my signature!) Perfect for the ages yo umentioned, with great food, theming, pool area, and all sorts of cool things to do. We love Alligator Bayou section the most.

None of the values hold a candle to any of the mods. If for no reason other than the mods have many many more trees and less concrete.

I know! I always wondered why they skimp so much on the landscape. Last time I checked bushes cost less than concrete!

This is not a joke post, I am asking a real question...

Are the crickets and frogs really "piped" in? I honestly thought they were real?

Re: How is the Port Orleans Riverside?

I really love POR..we stayed there for a short three night trip in '06 and stayed in Magnolia Manor. It was one of my favorite trips to date actually. The only downside is it can be big. We stayed close to the main building and we didn't even SEE any of the Alligator Bayou Section.

yes they are - if you look really closely in the foliage, you'll see little microphones - croaking!

POR is a great resort for kids - tons to do.

I really like POR as well. If staying at a moderate...I just can't get myself to stay anywhere else

Oh....and we discovered, on our last trip to DLR, that the crickets are magically voiced at the Grand Californian as well

Re: How is the Port Orleans Riverside?

My favorite moderate resort. The kids will love the pool. I think they have one of the best stores of all the resorts. We love boatwrights for breakfast try the cresent french toast yummy. If Piano Bob is playing in the lounge that is great fun. We fished and rented bikes last time we were there. I also like that you can take the boat to dtd. You won't be sorry that you switched.
