For those of you who have stayed in AKV concierge, I'm wondering if the upgrade is worth it?

When I consider 13 points a night (Sun-Thurs, Choice Season) for Savannah View versus 15 points a night for Kilimanjaro Club, the price difference seems really minimal.

We will be celebrating our anniversary on this trip so I'm thinking maybe the splurge would be worth it. (Especially since it will most likely cost us less than staying at CSR like we were considering!)

Thoughts?

It's nice to have all the extras in the lounge, you become very spoiled after this. I think you and Ryan would enjoy the snacks & beverages after a long day in the parks. It's also nice staying concierge b/c they can arrange ADRs for you, etc. I only did it once, back in 2001, and it was really nice. That was PRE-dining plan though. Hey, at least you won't have to pay for extra snacks, or breakfast, etc. Wine and beer in the evening with desserts... perfect! I say go for it! You don't know when you'll have that opportunity again.

I really think we may do this...we are not big breakfast eaters...more like morning "grazers" and I think that having some snacks at our fingertips in the AM would be worth the price alone!

We were lucky to stay concierge there earlier this year. For the minimal point difference, it IS worth it!

Basically..if you rent points for $10 a point that's a difference of $20 a night. Usually it's a much larger difference..I say..do it!

I agree...for only 2 points more, I would give it a try! At least it would be something special for your occasion, and it would be something different to try. I also want to try the morning safari at somepoint when my kiddos are a bit older!

OMG. I totally FORGOT about that! I have always wanted to do this, and I know DH would absolutely love it too!

Okay that definitely sold me for sure. We'll be splurging (wow - $20 a night, big splurge! ) and also shelling out some extra cash for the sunrise safari I'm sure.

I am counting down the days to book our Sunrise Safari and getting excited thinking about it. You should definitely book concierge. I hope you get it. We booked our room in January for December and were only able to get concierge for 1 night of our trip. It sold out fast. As I was on the phone booking it, the CM was explaining that there were only 2 nights available for concierge and that we would have to change rooms. I told her just go ahead and book it. In that short conversation, there was only 1 night left when she booked us. Luckily, it was Saturday night so that we could go on the Sunrise Safari. I hope you have better luck than we did getting the concierge for all of your dates.

I can't wait for our vacation at AKL club level. The reason I booked it is because there was such a small difference between a savanah view and club level-and concierge comes with savanah view. The extra $120.00 it cost for the week we would have spent in breakfast anyway. Now we will have breakfast watching the animals from the lounge. Plus the sunrise safari seems like a great time.

Thanks, I hope we do too! I am trying to finalize everything as soon as possible so we can find points to rent and hopefully book as soon as the window is open for us.

Do you happen to have an idea what the Sunrise Safari costs? I'm trying to add everything up for our budget but can't seem to find any good information on the safari.
