Brown Derby?

Hi Everyone,

Just made my ADR's and could not get LeCellier (bummer) so for our last night I reserved Brown Derby with the Fantasmic package. We have never seen the Fantasmic show or been to the Brown Derby so I wanted some opinions on if it's worth the 2 diiners it costs on the dining package. Other nights we will be dining at Calif. Grille, Coral Reef and the Castle.

Thanks

Re: Brown Derby?

I know others love the BD, but we didn't have a good experience there. One girl had to return her meal, and our server pulled a Houdini on us: gone for the whole night. We actually had to go to Guest relations and request refunds it was so bad.

We prefer the Hollywood and Vine buffet when we do the Fantasmic Pkg.

But as in all things Disney, if it sounds good to you, go for it. Everyone has different opinions and tastes.

Re: Brown Derby?

Well, compared to the other three places you will be dining, I would say that Brown Derby is most likely to be the letdown. (Whoa, you're dining nice! jealous....)

I've eaten there before, and honestly, I didn't care for it. My father and sister both had salads that were not too yummy. My mom and I split salmon, I believe (not positive.... but it was fish. most likely salmon), and it tasted a bit overdone. Not very impressing.

However, I would say that the Fantasmic will be worth it (although, personally, I do not care for Fantasmic). And out of the restaurants offered, that is definitely the best deal. However, based on preference, one might decide that a different restaurant would be better worth the money.

Re: Brown Derby?

I have to say, I didn't love Brown Derby - and I don't think its worth the 2 dining credits to be honest. I would pick one of the other Studios restaurants if I could. Just my opinion!

Re: Brown Derby?

My favorite at the BD is the Cobb Salad. It's an awesome lunch. I have to say though, I don't think it should be a 2 meal restaurant. I do think it is worth it for the Dinner Package. The only problem is the last seating for the dinner package is around 4:00.

Re: Brown Derby?

BD is one of my favorite places! You have chosen some very nice places.....my least favorite on your list is the Coral Reef. We also like Hollywood and Vine. Good Luck.

Re: Brown Derby?

We love The Brown Derby. Our favorite at MGM; excuse me Hollywood Studios. Last year it was worth the two credits, without the app. this year, I am not sure. For us it would be. Food, service, and atmosphere are perfect.
