Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
We are still in the planning stages and about to book our WDW trip but I wanted some more advice. My DH and I are still going back and forth between these two resorts. We will be traveling with our DS who is 3 and our DD who will be almost 5 months so i am kinda leaning toward the Beach Club b/c you can get to 2 parks w/o taking a bus but my DH says we will be spending most of our time in MK. any suggestions??

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
I think the WL in this case. You will spend most of your time at MK and it makes sense to stay at a resort close to the park you are going to be spending the most time at. The rooms are smaller at the WL, but your children are small and you will be fine there. If they were a bit older and you were going to spend most of your time at epcot and Hs, then beach club would be the best bet...that and it has the best pool on property...your little guys won't care about what kind of pool they have..just any pool usually is ok at that age..lol

I agree with Dana- even though we love BC, I think WL would be best for you. It is more convenient to MK, for sure. (we love WL also...)

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
You have a win/win decision to make because both resorts are wonderful. WL is perfect if you're going to spend a lot of time at MK. I feel relaxed the moment I step in the lobby, there's just something about the resort. Beach Club is more upbeat and noisy but we love that too.

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
With WL being over $100 a night less for every room, it's much more affordable than the three Disney resorts on Crescent Lake. I think WL is a more attractive resort with it's large open lobby and it's national parks lodge architecture than any other WDW resort. The direct boat to the MK from WL is a big plus, as is being on Bay Lake, where there's lots of room for Sea Raycers especially compared to Crescent Lake.
Beach's location is a little more central so you can walk to two parks and being in the center of 5 hotels, the Boardwalk area features lots of good dining, but these days I lean towards WL.

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
We have stayed at both.
While they are both AMAZING resorts, I would go with the WL if I was planning on spending most of my time at the MK.

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
The best part about staying at the Wilderness Lodge is that you can drive your double stroller right onto the boat to magic kingdom- Kids still in it!! We stay at Fort Wilderness and it makes transporation sooooo much easier!!
Please note, if you take the little boat that just goes to the contemporary and Fort Wilderness from the WL you will need to fold up the stroller. Do the Beach Club when the kids are older. The WL is great and so beautiful! |

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
I personally would choose Wilderness Lodge in this scenario. Nothing beats having that wonderful boat ride to the MK & being on the lake is so much fun. It's a gorgeous resort, close to everything, and has a lot to offer. Beach Club does have the most awesome pool but I think Wilderness Lodge has a lot to offer.

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
it is killing me to say this, because Y&B is our favorite resort, but with little ones (which we also don't have) if you are going to spend most of your time at MK, then I would also stay at WL. Both resorts are great in their own respect, and you could not go wrong with either.

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
I would have recommended the Beach Club just for the Storm Along Bay pool area. The kidlets would flip over that.

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
That is a difficult decision... both resorts are lovely.
Well, if you know for certain that you will spend most time at Magic Kingdom, then Wilderness Lodge may be the better option. Though the boat transportation is slow and slightly frustrating for a fast-paced person like myself, your children would probably enjoy the scenic boat ride. However, like you said, the Beach Club is walking distance from two resorts. And, you can get to the Magic Kingdom via monorail from Epcot. If you think you will park hop a lot, then Beach Club may be the better option. And, as mentioned above, Beach Club has Stormalong Bay, which is a lot of fun for the kids.

Re: Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge???
I would suggest the Wilderness Lodge. Both pools are outstanding, but yes Beach club wins on the slide and sand bottom. The Wilderness Lodge, is cozy and comfortable. The Beach club is overwhelming to me. The Wilderness Lodge has perfect transportation. And I don't think the walk to Epcot is that great because you don't see the ball when you first walk into the park and you're coming in the middle of the countries. :]
