Trundle Bed

I was just watching the slideshow for POR and was looking @ the trundle bed. It only looks like there is just a sheet covering the top layer. Do I need to bring a small blanket for my DD or is there a blanket for that bed folded up somewhere in the room?

Even if there isn't you can call mousekeeping for all the extras, pillows, sheets, blankets, etc!

Re: Trundle Bed

There is everything you need to sleep on that thing. Sheets, blankets, pillow. But beware those little beds are little. When my 11 year old was to sleep on it, his feet hung over the edge by quite a bit.

DD is only 7, so she should be okay. Thanks for the tips!

Re: Trundle Bed

You should have all you need for the bed.
Your DD should be fine. My DD slept in the trundle bed when she was 11 with no problem, but she is a little short. She was probably about 4'11 or so, and did fine.

Re: Trundle Bed

I slept on that little trundle once...
Rose and Crown + yards of beer + me = falling asleep on the little bed and waking up with an achy back .
We usually stay at POR and DD had slept on that bed many many times before. It's really not comforable. The mattress is really thin and the top sheet is itchy. After my night on the little bed we made a few adjustments to it. I got 6 blankets from house services and tripled them up. We layed all the folded blankets on the bed and then put a soft sheet over it. It felt MUCH better. I would also get bed rails for it. I know its low to the ground, but it's so low that DD ended up under our bed one night. With the extra blankets, a few extra pillows and the bed rails I would have no problem "ending up" on it again .

Re: Trundle Bed

If it was me, I would be inclined to bring my own quilt for her to use. We did this when we had a travel cot for our DD when she was a baby. I don't think she would have slept as well as she did if we had not brought them.
The trundle bed is not the comfiest of beds so if you can make it a bit sweeter to lie on then do it (imo)

Re: Trundle Bed

My DD loved the trundle when she was 9. She didn't even wanted to sleep on anything else. All the things you need for it are in the closet/bathroom area. If your DD is little, you might bring a little something from home to make them comfortable. The trundle rolls up under the bed every morning and it is really great.

Re: Trundle Bed

I agree with bringing something from home b/c we tried to put DD to bed by herself when in Disney and she ended up in our bed for the extra comfort. Maybe her own blankets would have helped. But DS hasnever had any problems sleeping at Disney without any personal items.

Re: Trundle Bed

My 16 year old son used it last year and he was WAY to big for it...they have a thin blanket and sheets on the bed for you but at floor level he was a tad chilly at times.

This year we got ajoining rooms!!!
