Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
We have never been to this resort. We wanted to put in a room location request. What do you suggest ? We would prefer a location that is close to the restaurants, and transportation (monorail and bus depot). Being near the main pool would be nice also but not a big deal if we arent.
What do you recommend? |

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
A little info to help you decide.
Preferred Room Locations The Great Ceremonial House is the location of almost all of the central resort facilities including the monorail station and bus stop and the restaurants. The longhouses located closest to the Great Ceremonial House are Tonga, Niue, and Rarotonga. The Tahiti and Rapa Nui longhouses are closest to the Ticket & Transportation Center, which is located just East of the Polynesian Resort. Samoa, Hawaii, Tokelau, Rarotonga and Niue are all close to the largest (unthemed) pool. Samoa and Hawaii are also directly adjacent to the grotto pool. The water view rooms in Hawaii and Tahiti give the best views of the Magic Kingdom. |

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
I would suggest you check out MBer Tikiman's site
tikiman2001 We stayed in Touvalu and had a MK view. Short walk to pool and GCH Just remember the better the view the more the cost Distances seem to change depending on what people consider long or short.

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
We love Aeoteroa. It's just a hop, skip and jump to the GCH. Also, if you're a garden view room, you'll have a fabulous view of the monorail....which my kids LOVE!!!!!

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
We were in Samoa and loved it. It was a garden view overlooking the quiet pool. This longhouse is right in between the Volcano Pool and Quiet Pool.
I loved the location b/c it was very central. Some say that the rooms in Samoa can be loud during the day since it's so close to the pools, so if you go back for afternoon naps with little ones that could be a minus.

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
both times we stayed in the Nuie building, it is small but it's between both pools and very close to the Grand Ceremonial House. We loved it so much the first time we requested it our second time, we even requested the same room. It was marvelous. I have read others responses and it seems that all choices were great. Good luck and enjoy your trip

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
We JUST got back, and we stayed at Tokelau. THE BEST location! We were in room 3938 (we like being up high) and this room is on the end (monorail side). The bus stop was right out the side door. The TTC is close and so is the Great Ceremonial House (one day when it was raining we cut through one other longhouses to get to the GCH and never got wet!). Tokelau is right next to the "quiet pool" and we enjoyed a midnight swim by just stepping out the door. We walked down the hall to exit on the MK side and enjoyed fireworks on the beach. BTW, we had a garden view room but this bldg also has Castle views.
We will request Tokelau every time! Reading all the other posts, it sounds like most buildings are great! We stayed in Tuvulu in 2006 and I would NOT recommend it! It is on the GF side, and we had a loooooong walk to everything but GF! The marina is between Tuvulu and the pool/ferry, so we had to walk around to get to these things. HAVE FUN! I LOVE POLY! ![]() |

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
My family and I stayed in Aeoteroa in 2005, and Fiji last year! Both were wonderful!
Fiji was our favorite though, because we were right across from the marina! A very short walk to the Grand Ceremonial House! ANYWHERE at tht Poly is great! We always walked to and from the Ticket and Transportation Center, that's how we found that wonderful quiet pool! And walking the grounds at night, with all the torches lit.....................MAGICAL! Our next trip to WDW, we will be staying at the Poly for a whole week! ![]()

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
We just stayed in the Aeoteroa building which was nice and a fairly close walk to the Ceremonial house and pool. I think other buildings locations are a little better but they come with a price. If you want to be close to the Ceremonial house I would suggest the Tonga, Niue, and Rarotonga. When you are at the Polynesian its hard to have a bad location because the whole resort is incredible.

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
When we stayed there, we were in Hawaii, but that's the concierge lodge, so it will cost you more. Location was really good.

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
OMGosh! Rarotonga was the best longhouse for everything you listed. We were right next to the restaurants, monorail, bus stops and a few steps away from both the main pool and quiet pool which we used both frequently. Also we were not far from the boat dock either. Perfect location!
Check out our TR with photos and reviews: http://www.mousebuzz.com/forum/trip-...ntures-tr.html We were in the first room, first floor, right by the doors. Room #1830. It was fantastic! You will love the Poly!!!! ![]()

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
I agree with Rarotonga too!! But if you request this building request the 3rd floor if you want a full balcony. We could see the parking lot from our room (you had to really look though) and we loved seeing the monorail zip by!!
If you would rather be closer to the TTC Tahiti would be a great choice as the walkway is right there! (our first two days were in Tahiti and rest were in Rarotonga) It's a beautiful resort no matter where you are!!

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
The Poly is just INCREDIBLE...I really don't think you can have a "bad" location!
That said, we only stayed there once and stayed in a Castle View room in Tahiti. We were on the 3rd floor and had the most PERFECT views of Cindy's Castle! And forget about the Electric Light Pageant...AMAZING LOCATION TO VIEW IT!!!!!!! What I LOVED about that location, was that it was right near the walkway to TTC. And it wasn't that far of a walk to the Great Ceremonial House. My family LOVED that resort...we will DEFINITELY stay there again one day! Have a blast!

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
I sayed in a first floor room in the Nuie building. It was ideal...seconds from the great ceremonial house and transportation. Central to both pools...minutes from the beach and boat transportation and close to the arcarde and kids club....loved that room.

Re: Polynesian Resort - Best room location?
I've stayed in Hawaii, Fiji, Rarotonga & Tahiti and loved them all for various reasons. The Polynesian is a great resort and you will not be disappointed.
Rarotonga is great with kids or older adults. It has location location location. Very convenient to the GCH and pools. Fiji is a smaller long house and close to the beach. You can also get a side beach view without the added costs. Hawaii, what more can I say, it's perfect. If you can splurge, do it, the view of the MK is wonderful, especially when you watch the fireworks and electric water parade. Tahiti is my new favorite. Not as close to the GCH but still an easy and beautiful walk, and a quick walk to the TTC so you can ride the monorail to Epcot. This is a great location for older teens and adults.
