Hello everyone,
My family and I (the wife and almost a 5 year old and 2 1/2 year old) are approx 2 weeks away from getting down to Disney. So that being said, I am asking if anyone has any last minute checklists, etc I should be considering right now.
We are staying at Pop and have lined up all the character meals etc. But do we need to do anything with the FastPass? We have preferred room but does that give us a refrig?
Anyway any last minute advice or suggestions to make this trip go smooth would be greatly appreciated. This is really the first time we are going as a family of 4 and the first time staying on the Disney site. Just want to make things go as smoothly as possible. Kids are getting very EXCITED!!!!! How exciting!

Fastpass ticket are available in the parks. They are marked on the map. When you arrive at the attraction, there is a clock that will tell you the return time for your fastpass (2-3 hour window) You insert your park ticket into the machine, and a Fastpass is spit out. You must show this ticket when you return to ride at the designated time, you virtually walk right onto the ride . . . at the bottom of the ticket, it tells you when you can get another FP ticket. So you CAN NOT get all your FP tickets at once.

Pop does not have a fridge in the room, but you can "rent" one for an additional $10/night . . . call to reserve.

BRING SUNSCREEN . . . and WEAR IT!! I live here in sunny FL and the sun is VERY strong this year . . . wouldn't want your trip ruined with a sunburn!

My two DDs are 8 and 4 . . . I kinda follow their lead, so there are no meltdowns . . . taking a break, hitting the pool, naps . . . the parks are open late, so you can always go back!

Don't forget to take LOTS of pictures and tell us all about it when you return.

I would take some sort of refillable water bottles for each of you. Then refill them at the water coolers in the parks. I imagine you will have a stroller for your youngest, so you can carry them in that. It will be very hot and humid and you will drink more than you think.

One other thing that I would like to add is: Drink a lot of water while you are in the parks; don't wait until you are thirsty. With the heat and the sweating it is so easy to get dehydrated. This is the one thing that I don't mind stopping to buy at every vendor I see.

Children's Tylenol and Children's Motrin. There are a lot of people and you are bound to walk past someone who is sick. And young ones tend to get it the quickest. If you alternate them every four hours, you can keep it under control. That's always the must have for the just in case times.

Another thing I ALWAYS bring to the park is two beach towels.

I just roll them up real tight and but them in the bottom of the bag until we need them . . . and we always do!

They are perfect as a pillow for a nap, a sun blocker to hang on the stroller, a drape for the stroller if it looks like it's going to rain and as a TOWEL, when it does rain and you want to wipe everything off . . .

Right now we are prone to the 2pm-4pm thunder showers . . . so bring your ponchos too!

If you do this, I would suggest taking some of those little packets of water beverage mix that you put in individual water bottles and shake up for a little flavor. The water at WDW tastes a little funky, and these help mask that taste. Propel, Crystal Light and Kool Aid all make these and they are very small and are easy to stick in a bag or even your pocket.

Don't forget to take some to relax and soak up the atmosphere. I think people tend to try to "Do it all" but you can't so don't try to. There's so much more to WDW than the major attractions.

Don't think First Aid is just for major things. We usually have to hit it once each trip for minor things like bandaids, tylenol, and last summer my son got stung by a bee. The best part--It's free!

I always have a baggie in the backpack with stuff like listed above but we've been known to run out and get caught needing it before I've had a chance to re-stock.

Major don't forgets that can't be replaced or bought once in the parks...

prescription meds..make sure you have enough for the entire trip and pack it now..leave out enough for between now and then.

inform your credit card company(s) that you will be in florida if you intend to use credit cards...abnormal spending in another state may cause them to think your card has been stolen.

copies (back side) of your park passes....stick them in your luggage. If you passes are lost or stolen, then can be looked up by the number on the back of them and replaced...free.

camera, film and anything you use to capture the moment..all of the above is WAY over priced in WDW.

benedryl, asprin, cold meds, first-aid kit, SUNBLOCK and ALOE.....florida is brutal...

bring your own towels for the pool...I use them for showers too as the WDW resort ones kinda stink..lol

Make sure you bring a Wash Cloth. You can wet it down so the kids don't get overheated. Especially the 2.5 year old. Also we purchased the Water Bottle Spray fans @ MK. They will give you ice at almost any CS stand. Or you can buy them before you leave. They cost about 18.00 at the parks. Those are a must have in the Florida heat. It's so sticky out right now that you just walk outside and you feel wet.

USE FASTPASS! get there early too- it really helps with the rest of the day-especially with little ones! Have fun, and don't let the heat get to you!
