Room Discounts for AP's

So Im looking into getting an AP for myself and the kids. I was wondering what kind of room discounted rates have been offered before? What kind of hotels as well? Thanks!

The discounts vary. If you check out MouseSavers.com - Disney Discount Source - Disney World Discounts, Disneyland Discounts, Disney Cruise Discounts they have a list of the past discounts. This last round, the availability was very limited. I had been able to get POFQ for $105 last December, but this August no rooms were available. CBR amd CSR were available for $99 a night though. Different room types as well. At the WL, there were only courtyard view, bunk bed rooms available with the AP discount, at $225 a night, I believe.

All hotels and discounts vary. I suggest going to the "front page news" thread and researching last year's discounts for your time frame. Mickey always posts them, so they are there. I think the discounts for last year were only the free water park and more upgrade...don't remember money off the rooms, but who knows what this year will bring with many people not traveling and WDW wanting to fill their rooms.

Keep in mind that you shouldn't need your AP until you check in so you can wait and see if discounts come out before you buy your APs.

Thats what I was thinking but when I called yesterday they said if I wanted to have the DDP I needed to book as a package and pay for the AP in advance.
I think as many times as I want to go next year Im probally just going to get the AP this weekend.
I do want to use it for 2-7 2-14, sometime in June or July, Oct, and the week after Christmas

I pulled all my passholder emails for you to give you an idea! So far, since being a passholder since '06, I have never NOT gotten the rate or room I wanted - FYI! Once you get the pass sign up on the passholder site, and you too with get the emails . . . OK?

Thanks for the info! I want to do the short weekend trips too but Im coming from NJ so it will only work out if I leave NJ on a Wed after work so I can have Thurs Fri Sat Sun and leave late Sun night or Mon morn.. But I want to go 2-7 2-14 and Halloweenish and week after Christmas..

Yes we have always had discounted rooms too, including this trip as discount dates were available for 9 nights of our stay. This has been extra good for us as we also have Free Dining Plan for 14 nights of our stay too.

How long does it take if you have to drive? I would love to leave on a Wednesday afternoon for a quick weekend trip but our drive is about 20 hours. I don't think we could easily pull that off.

I have had hit or miss luck with my AP's. But, usually, I wind up with a discount somewhere. It may not be at the first choice resort, but it works out.

I would love to drive down for a long weekend too, but its just too long a drive for us. Flying is our only option. (We could drive, I guess, but I have no desire to sit in the car that long!!)

I don't know if they changed it back, but I BELIEVE weeknights are less then WEEKENDS . . . so your Thursday night stay will be less . . . assuming you drive straight through and arrive Thurs afternoon.

It is the same with us too, but we go anyway. Fortunally, it is a 6 hour drive so we use the APs. We try to take at 3 trips a year and the AP pays for it self after the second trip.

Tinkerbelle, I really suggest you get the APs if you are planning many trips in the year.
