Disappointed - no value room for Sept 18

We have to get up at 2 am 9/19 for our 6:30 am flight. I was looking and "thought" if I took a night flight the day before, booked a room only, then we would be refreshed for our first day. Well, no rooms at any value for that time

or moderate

just swan at $290 for the night. When that would be to sleep only (arrive at 10 pm) I don't think it's worth it.

Sue, how about booking at a nearby hotel and in the morning taking their shuttle over to the TTC and from there maybe a cab to your resort?

I agree with Dopey, why not try a non-WDW hotel. I am sure you could get a great deal, and it would mean a much nicer, more exciting first day.
I agree it isn't worth upwards of $300, but I bet you could find something much, much cheaper.

KEEP TRYING! Call everyday if you have too . . . don't rely on the website. Tell the CM your situation . . . it's worked for me before!

Altho, for some reason . . . WDW is SO CROWDED . . . I have NEVER had a problem getting a room . . . first time was for the back to school weekend trip it was FULL, not one room available?? Which I think is so strange??

I was told LOTS of FLORIDIANS are doing stay-cations . . .

Anyway . . . keep trying . . . pixie dust!

I know you are disappointed, but there are nice motels close to a WDW entrance. Look at this one: Kissimmee Florida hotels, Quality Inn hotel near Walt Disney World, Kissimmee FL 34747, FL096
You can google Kissimmee Hotels Disney World. If you are flying you could catch a cab to the motel & to the park the next day. (Or maybe the hotel has a pick up service at the airport) The hotel is only 2 miles from a WDW Main Gate. I priced it for Sept 19: 1 night for 2 people & it was $52.00 + tax. (room sleeps 4) Hope some of this helps.

I really don't want to mess with the off resort. We're not renting a car, just using ME. I thought if for around $100 or so if we could get a room just to sleep at POP - or value it would be nice. But till I would have a cab, then transfer to POP the next day..... more money and hassel than I wanted.

I will be arriving at MCO at 9 am so we will still have a full day. I'll sleep on the plane - I always do. I will try a few more times yet, but can't too much more because then SW fares will go up closer to our day. Hey, I'm still going to enjoy 8 full nights!

With the Free Dining I am not surprised. I'd just book a cheapie hotel in Orlando and take a cab or shuttle to WDW the next morning.

You are at the three week mark . . . so call tomorrow . . . like I said you never know! For my Mom's Day weekend . . . I was told they were booked and I was like rats, I really wanted to come . . . I was told to "HOLD ON" and when she came back they had a room for me!

I am surprised! I'd keep trying, and also book at an airport hotel. We stayed at Econo Lodge at the Airport (DO NOT RECOMMEND) and took the airport shuttle there, then took a towncar to WDW the next day.

But Sue, all those Motels/Hotels close to Disney have free shuttles or even a cab ride would be cheaper than spending deluxe money for just a few hours of sleep.

i was just looking around on Travelocity and I believe All star sports has some. when in doubt alway check them sites too if you can ot by from disney direct. I ran into that problem for new years eve of this year

A few years back, my girls & their families, DH & myself had reservations to stay inside at a WDW resort. But, we were so excited, we decided to see if we could find a hotel near Disney & drive on down a day early. We found one on the internet & made the phone call. It was one near the WDW gates. We threw our lugage in our vehicles & drove down to the hotel. It was nice & inexpensive. We ate supper at a nearby restaurant. After a good nights sleep, we were up & off to WDW bright & early the next day.

The way I see it, $52.00 + tax compared to $99.00 + tax for a few hours sleep is a pretty good savings. Most hotels offers a shuttle to WDW. So, your only expence would be a cab ride to the hotel. I think of it like this: The more money I save, the more money I have to spend inside WDW. But, that's me.
