Hey everone,

We just booked a trip to WDW for a month from today, Oct. 12-17th (we normally book months in advance). We booked a 5 night, 6 day stay at the All Star Sports, however we had planned to stay at Pop Century again. The Disney site said rooms were booked for the Sports, Movies and Pop Century! I was really surprised to hear that, especially in October!

We've been in late September a few years back and we don't recall it being very busy....does it get busy during the 2nd week of October? I also thought they may put aside an certain amount of rooms for people who purchase rooms at special rates....can anybody help me out??

There are only a certain number of discounted rooms. After they are gone, you can't get one unless you want to pay full price.

Plus, it is the time of year when a lot of people come to do Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

The values have been filling up fast lately!! I've tried to go on a whim a few times and for the first time in 3 years haven't been able to get rooms when I want.

A CM told me a lot of FL residents are doing "staycation" and therefore filling up the rooms and the weakness of the dollar has a lot of Europeans coming to stay as well . .. she said Disney is NOT feeling the economic crunch at all!

That seems odd that the values would be that full. I understand they only have a certain number of rooms at the discount rate, but still...

When I was trying to book our room (about a month ago) I kept getting a message that Pop was full to try All Star. But when All Star would come up a small window to te side gave me the option of booking Pop - this was the only way I got to book there. And I had to do 3 separate reservations (for other family members) this way. I was never able to do it directly at the Pop - not sure if this is just a glitch or I accidentally got around their system.
