Suggestions needed for March stay
Hi all... My daughter (19) and I want to return to WDW this March for a few nights.. we used to go to WDW every year for 4 nights until 5 years ago.. she became "too old" well now that she is in college she is young again and looking forward to renewing this mother and daughter trip.. we may take Dad with us
Questions:1)Looking for suggestions for a resort that would be a nice fit for us.. over the years we have stayed at Port Orleans, All Stars, Animal Kingdom... maybe something different? 2) When is the best time to book the resort.. would love to get a discount or special (those college bills add up)... 3)What is the weather like in March? 4) I am sure there are lots of new things to see since early 2004.. any must sees? Thanks to all.. |

Re: Suggestions needed for March stay
I am so happy that you and your DD are going to take your trip this year and she came to understand that she isn't "to old" for WDW. Don't take your Dad...just make it you two. As a single parent who takes her DD every year, I know how special these trips are and wouldn't bring another person unless guilted into it again..lol
I personally like POFQ for a trip on a budget or even POP would work out just fine. My days of the deluxes are pretty much over unless I make more money..I have those nasty tuition bills too so I feel your pain. As for what to see... Expedition everest at the Animal kingdom Toy Story mania at the Hollywood studios Nemo at Epcot Laughing floor at Magic kingdom The rest you have seen if you been ther since 2004 unless I'm missing someting. You should book it now..don't bank on a disocunt.

Re: Suggestions needed for March stay
Hi, we have been to Disney several times and now my son is 16. This past July we stayed at Wilderness Lodge and have loved it form the 1st time we stayed there. It has beautiful rooms and the lobby is a great place to hang out and have some nice family chats! The transportation is great, having boat service to the MK with very little wait time. They have a small food court to suit the busy traveler as well as an awesome restaurant called Whispering Canyon. This place has great food and a real fun night for all. I have also stayed at Port Orleans(which they redid their roomes a few years ago) and dixie landings. Coronado Springs is nice, but it sooo big, it can take awhile to get used to! Carribean Beach are in the process of finishing up their remodel and they have a few theme rooms now...Nemo and Pirates of the Carribean. It is a difficult choice but I hope some of these ideas help. Also, the food court resorts are concenient , as you know, so that may be something to consider. Have a great trip!

Re: Suggestions needed for March stay
My favorite (low cost) deluxe is Wilderness Lodge. Costs are about the same across the board as AKL, but it's on the water.
Mods, I'd go with PO French Quarter because it is smaller than the rest of the mods, although it shares all buses with Riverside, which is a drawback to me. Values, they're all the same, but I might lean towards an All Star over Pop because Pop has 3000 rooms, while All Stars are 2000 each, so as often as not, they don't share buses, especially MK buses. On the other hand, Pop is just one bus stop and is by itself, so there are no shared buses or even a chance of a shared bus. Another thing to keep in mind is that mods and values have double beds. Only the deluxe hotels have 2 queen beds per room, and that extra width is important (at least to us). If price isn't an issue, I strongly recommend the Contemporary Tower (MK side).

Re: Suggestions needed for March stay
I think a different feel for a resort might be Polynesian, GF, WL or Coronado Springs.
I think you'll truly enjoy this trip! I would love to take a trip with just me and my Mom, but I would really feel bad about not having my family with me as I just found out. I don't remember when TofT and RRC was put in at DHS but those are some of our favorites. But I would totally do a charecter meal while there. If not a few. Even as adults, it's so much fun and makes the trip so special. You will really start to feel like a kids again! Have fun! Not sure about March but in February I was in FL and it was gorgous, Spet/Oct trip was still pretty warm and loved it then. Oh and in March I believe you will be able to do the Pirates and Princess Party...DO IT! I love the little parties they put on and would go even without my kids!
