Christmas Decorations At WDW

Do you know when they will be decorating for Christmas? We were suppose to be going the end of October, but since daughter and son in law are buying a house and closing the first week in October, they have decided to wait and go in Thanksgiving Week only because it would just be to much going on in trying to get moved and all the stuff that goes with it. Now the stress has begun to try and plan again, but my grandsons have never seen WDW with all the Christmas decorations, plus we will be trying to get tickets to the Mickey Christmas Party

Christmas decorations are usually up by Thanksgiving, I believe.

Yes, at Thanksgiving, they are in full Christmas mode -- decorations, music, the whole works.

A big change from the last few years is that Osborne lights, according to the Disney calendar page, are not scheduled until Nov.28 this year. Last year it was about 2 weeks earlier. I wonder why. MVMCP is still beginning early like last year.

I read the same thing. I, too, wondered why. Maybe because of rising costs of electricity? They want to save 2 weeks worth of an electric bill! Luckily, I will still be there on the 28th and it's my PRIORITY to go see the lights. I have NEVER seen them and I've been there for the Christmas season 4 times already!

Kim, you will love them. Just standing in the of the street with all of these twinkle lights going, it's crazy!!! And there is a nice nativity scene at the far end of the street, just go towards the the angels.

Re: Christmas Decorations At WDW

And since that's the first night they're doing it, and since it's later than previous years, be prepared for wall-to-wall people. Everyone in the world who is ending their Thanksgiving vacation will probably be at DHS for it that night. And possibly some locals, too, who just have to be there for the first night? But it's worth it. Just relax, take your time, and enjoy.

I just can't wait to see all of the holiday decorations. I've been to WDW many times but never during the holidays. I'm sooooooo excited.

Re: Christmas Decorations At WDW

Depending on how old your grandchildren are, you should think about going to the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. Very nice, but might be boring for little ones.

Re: Christmas Decorations At WDW

We have gone to WDW in Dec. several times. The decorations are GREAT, we love to go in early Dec. it helps get us ready for the holidays. Don't forget to take some time and go to the resorts, they are also decked out for the holidays.

Re: Christmas Decorations At WDW

Christmas at WDW!!! Wonderful!!

Decorations are up til early January. We were there January 3 - January 8, 2008 and the decorations were still up. Got to enjoy them before they were removed, but didn't have the big crowds to deal with.
