Buying water, etc @ resorts ???
I'm still on the fence about ordering a case of water to be delivered to our room & paying a delivery charge. Anyone have a clue how much buying bottled water right at the resort is going to run us?
Just wondering if its worth having it delivered..... Thanks!

I think in the parks they charge around 2.25. But don't quote me on that

If you don't want to pay for water, just ask for a large cup of water when you order breakfast, lunch or dinner at a CS. They give it to you for free with ice. We just carry that around with us for the day.

If you are renting a car it might be easier and cheaper to pick a case up at a local grocery store or Wal-Mart.

Re: Buying water, etc @ resorts ???
The regular sized bottle of water at WDW is $2, tax included. The large is maybe $.50 more. I usually use snack credits for bottled water if I'm that thirsty.
When staying club level, we'll grab some bottles from the lounge. Haven't really considered buying a case of water. I do bring a couple of 2 liter bottles of home made sweet tea for the fridge. That and sometimes some cold cuts and bread for that late night sandwich when nothing else is available except over priced room service.

I actually think bottled water is reasonably priced at Disney. They could charge so much more, but thank goodness they don't!
I usually buy 1 bottle a day and then refill it at the water fountains if I need more.

A few weeks back there was some discussion about Garden Grocer (is that the name of the delivery service?) Anyway, I did a quick look at their water prices to compare with Publix (the local major supermarket chain) and found them to be almost the same, if not exactly the same, bottle to bottle. So, if you factor in the small delivery charge, compared to what buying 12 or 24 bottles ala carte would cost in and around WDW, you're probably still far ahead of the game. Plus, you are on vacation and we all know that any time you're away from home on vacation in a strange place, you're always going to pay about 10-20% more for everything anyway. DW does that as well.

Re: Buying water, etc @ resorts ???
Thanks gang; I normally always have a bottle of water with me - I'd like to order from the green grocer for delivery, but I think DH is hesitant. Perhaps, we will just toss a 1/2 dozen into checked luggage to be safe incase we forget to bring some back to the room at night.
I'm so excited about going now.... I don't know WHAT to think! I'm probably over thinking things now!! ![]()

Re: Buying water, etc @ resorts ???
I took a total of 9 bottles in my checked luggage. I put them in freezer zip lock bags. That really helped.
The water is $2 for 16.9 ounce and $1.25 for 12 ounce. Usually DH and I got 2 @ 1.25 It would get too warm if you got the bigger ones. In Epcot we did get a HUGE bottle for $3.50 - Canada area. I think it was 30 some ounces!

Re: Buying water, etc @ resorts ???
I'd just buy a bottle or two on the first day and refill them in water fountains or in the sinks. Paying for delivery and all that will cost you an arm and a leg.

Water weights 9# per gallon. That could EASILY cause your checked bags to be overweight and subject to surcharge that would make buying it at the resort look cheap. Go with garden grocer delivery or use Quicksilver and get a grocery stop no charge.
