Holiday's at the resorts!

Ok, so last year I was wrapping gifts and on the food network I was watching what I think was Disney Holidays Unwrapped, but not sure. Well, I was just so enamored that I planned this years holiday trip.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what each resort has for the holidays I want to make my way to all of the resorts. I wish this show was on again. If anyone see's the advertisment can you post it! I was hoping it would be on our comcast on demand, so far, no luck! Oh well!

Ok first of all so that you won't miss a Disney thing Disney Theme Parks Related TV for the Week
Second, we enjoyed the huge gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. I can't remember anything else. It is most impressive!

Re: Holiday's at the resorts!

I don't see mention of the Contemporary Resorts display. A couple of years ago it was a life-size Pinocchio's Workshop all made out of candy!! AKL near Boma has a candy display, as does the Polynesian. We tried to hit the main resorts in 2005 and each one was decorated beautifully. While at MK, it's easy to catch the monorail and hit the Cont., Poly & GF and when at Epcot or DHS, walk over to BWV (they had carolers around the tree near the boardwalk side entrance), YC and BC...they all have something special of their very own. AK and WL have beautiful trees too. Check'em all out!

Re: Holiday's at the resorts!

Last year the Contemporary made a Christmas Tree(like device) made from Monorails that was in front of the gift shop kiosk in the middle of the Grand Canyon Concourse (4th floor).
The Wilderness Lodge is every bit the masterpiece that the Grand Floridian is, minus the gingerbread house. WL and GF are the top two Christmas displays in WDW. Yacht and Beach have some nice stuff, including the gingerbread carousel. Of course, the deluxe resorts seem to have the best decorations, although the Poly doesn't do very much. And the monster trees are in the WL and GF (Not sure what the tree is like at AKL, but with their big open lobby, they should have a monster there too.)

Re: Holiday's at the resorts!

We've been to Disney 3 times during the Christmas season.

My personal favorites...
  • Gingerbread House at GF
  • "snow" on Main St. during MVMCP
  • All the trees! The one at Animal Kingdom is very cool
  • Epcot - learning the way Christmas is celebrated around the world
  • Resort Decorations - Each one is different. You could spend a day just going to the resorts without stepping foot in a park
  • DTD has a unique personality with all the decorations... especially at night

I could go on and on...

Re: Holiday's at the resorts!

We're also going in Dec and checking out GF is on our list of things to do our first night. Do they sell gingerbread cookies at the GF? I thought that these would make great teacher gifts.

They do sell various baked goods and candies. The gingerbread house is a retail outlet disguised as something out of a Christmas story. I think they do some of the baking inside, if memory serves me well. I also believe that Santa is set up right next to it for pictures.
