First Trip-Must see attractions

We are taking our first trip to Disney World Dec 6th-13th. Seems we've been waiting forever! Anyway our kids are DD6 and DS3. My DD6 loves anything scary that she's tall enough for(she's excited for the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and especially Splash Mountain). My DS3 on the other hand is scared easily and would be happy riding Dumbo type rides all day. Anyway I was thinking I'd take advantage of the free customized maps. What attractions are must see for you? I'm trying to figure out what to put on our map. Thanks!

You try Snow White's Scary Adventure and Tower of Terror if shes tall enough. My niece loved Tower of Terror, who was 6 when she first rode it. A must do is Bug's Life located @ Animal Kingdom!

In MK the 3 mountians are a must as well as the Huanted Mansion. I love Mickys Philharmagic- that show just really gets you in the Disney mood (if by some stange reason you are not allredy there). Do not miss Wishes and the spectromagic parade. Pirates of the Caribbean is amazing and if your kids like Dumbo they will love magic carpets of Aladdin. Have fun on your trip!

Re: First Trip-Must see attractions

My DD (5) loved the Tower of Terror surprisingly!! she was ok with Haunted Mansion & Pirates. Wishes is awesome too, esp if you sit on the bridge between Main St & Tomorrowland & see Tink fly overhead! In Toontown, be sure not to miss the judges tent & the tent where the princesses are....its great since they only allow a few people in at a time, makes them really feel special!!

If you don't have personal issues with motion sickness, you should give it a try. I think everything in Disney is worth trying once to see how your own experience is. You know they do everything well. I won't pass up anything based solely on another person's opinion.

Re: First Trip-Must see attractions

Oh my! You're going to have such a wonderful time! But WDW is a huge and overwhelming place. I would suggest you get a good guide book - most here agree that The Unofficial Guide is the best. Understand that you are not going to see and do everything - it's impossible - so I would try to steer towards what's fun for kids your age (and sneak in some fun stuff for you too!) My best advice is to try to pace yourself so you're not racing from one thing to another with enjoying anything - (and beware that Snow White's Adventures is probably one of the scariest rides in the MK for little kids (likewise It's Tough To Be A Bug at the AK - if your kids don't like bugs).

I think Bella covered it all for you! Another must see in Epcot is SOARIN!! MY FAVORITE! DS3 may be too short (40 inch minimum). But if you get a chance to ride it, I think you will LOVE it!!

Hope you have a great trip!!! Make lots of memories, and take loads of pictures to share with all of us!

Re: First Trip-Must see attractions

Welcome to MB!

You are in for such a treat. There are so many magical things awaiting your little ones.

MK
The section called Mickey's Toontown Fair has lots of stuff for your 3YO. Goofy's Barnstormer is just the right size for a little one to try as a first-time roller coaster. And in the judge's tent, you can meet so many characters. Bring a camera! There are some wet things to do, plus you can tour Mickey's house and Minnie's house next door.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a very tame ride, though there is a short part at the beginning where you can see a scary pirate. And the Jungle Cruise is AWESOME. Don't pass up the Tiki Tiki Room, and take a ride on Aladdin.

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is paradise for kids, and we love it to... but our all-time favorite suggestion for kids that age is Mickey's Philharmagic! You will be blown away, and your kids will be insane with happiness. I won't give any details, but I can still smell that pie... LOL

AK
Kilmanjaro Safari is great for kids. They will see all sort of animals up close & personal. Try to hit it early in the day, if you can... first thing in the morning if you can swing it. And for your older thrill-seeker, Dinosaur is awfully fun! But it IS very scary. Expedition Everest is absolutely amazing.

HS
Beauty and the Beast is lovely, and the Muppetvision show is excellent. We also love the Great Movie Ride, which has a ton of things your kids will love (maybe hide the baby's eyes briefly when you go through the Alien room...)

EC
Maelstrom in Norway is fun adn Honey IO Shrunk The Audience is great too, for both kids. Your older daredevil will enoy all those other rides, like Test Track, Mission Space and Soarin.

I would do everything and if you need, use the child swop. You can let your DH and DS6 ride and you wait with the 3 yearold and then when they are off you and the DS6 can get on while the other two wait for you.
