call early for a room

can anyone tell me if i call to request a room over at the caribbean beach...when is the earlist i can do this and what room to ask for ...

I'm not sure when the earliest time to call is, but I can tell you to request a room in Jamaica if you can. That's where I requested to stay last time I stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort and it was nice and close to the food court.

What dates are you looking at? I've booked a room only reservation as far as a year out, maybe more. Packages are different but you can always book room only and call back later and add the package part.

I don't think you can request specific rooms or locations (buildings) anymore.

You can, you just can't fax it in. The request can be noted on your reservation but it's pretty general. We requested a certain area at POR last December and got what we asked for.

I would make your request as soon as you make your reservation, they'll make a notation but can't guarantee that's what you'll get. We stayed at CB in summer 2007, we requested Martinique building 26 and got it- it was the perfect location. We were very close to Old Port Royale, the main pool and a bus stop.

I was always told to call as soon as you know and the earlier the better.
I also have been told to call the actuall resort 3 days prior to schedualed check in and they will say the same thing but you have a better chance getting your request if you speak with them.

i was just at the CBR in may 2008 and i was still able to ask for a specific area. so i think you must still be able to.

I requested Jamaica or Aruba in general when I made our reservations so I know it can be done. Building 45 is my fave. GL!!

Thanks everyone for the info. I have my heart set on Magnolia Terrace/Oak Manor for our stay at the POR in Dec. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I agree with a polite request at the time of the reservation, maybe a followup call, and then a polite mention when you check in! You'd be amazed at how far a smile and politeness can take you at WDW, especially since they must deal with all kinds of mean people on any given day!

I think I rang a week or two before we left in AUG for SSR, I requested a room in the springs but when we arrived we got placed waaay out back, miles away from everything. When we mentioned the request they tapped away in their computer, noticed it and had us moved to the springs section the next day, Im never going again without making a room request lol.
I agree that politness and a smile can certainly get you places but so can telling them you've been up for almost 30hrs and it's your first stay at a DVC (and your thinking about membership), I think that helped to cinche the deal for us too!
