strange phone call...

from Disney Travel. My phone rang and I was so excited when I saw the calller ID said "Disney Travel". But then it was weird.... the person calling told me that, in error, a check for $275 was sent to me regarding my trip this month. She said it was sent in error and to just destroy it. She also told me about 4 times that there has been a stop payment put on it.

I said OK....but do I still have a reservation? She said of course no problem.

Should I be worried? She was very matter of fact about it all and not especially friendly.

Something weird is going on over at reservations. I think they are doing system upgrades and the system is NOT happy!

About two weeks ago I got 10 envelopes from Disney in the mail! 10!! All for the same trip . . . when I called to inquire, I was told "We try and be so "green" too!" and it was laughed off.

ALSO, my final trip payment for my December trip was due on the 5th. So I logged in and made the payment. TODAY I get a "You have a balance due!" email from WDW . .. and if I didn't respond by the 10th they would refund me less $100 and cancel my trip!! I had paid $990 of it only owed $185 (now that makes NO sense to me!)

Anyway I called, and was again told . . . OH we were doing system upgrades, it wasn't just you, blah, blah . . . in the meantime, how many people has this happened too . . . if they don't check their email on a regular basis, their trips could be in jepaordy . . . frustrating if nothing else!

if it was me....i would call and double check my reservation. if for no other reason than to put my mind at ease.

I guess that makes sense about system upgrades, but Wow that could really mess things up if they don't catch all these mistakes. I will definately call (probably more than once) to make sure my ressie is in tact!

It's been my experience that you can never get a straight answer out of Disney. We've been begging for a copy of the reservation for the people that rented our points this November and every time we call they have a different answer and excuse. It's very frustrating and not the way a multi-billion dollar company who deals with the public should be run. They did say the last time we called that they were updating the reservation dept.

Hmm - I'm not sure I would tear up that cheque...

Print out your reservation with a "zero balance" owed to take with you. Definately check your reservation with them, but taking your copy is fine enough...just make sure you have one with the entire balance paid in full.

I would call tomorrow to check the status, and then ask that they either email or snail mail a new confirmation.

Hmmm. I wonder what is going on over there. I called to get a quote on the new promo and they said that the systems were down. I was going to just call DVC but the hold time was way too long.
I think that they may need to get some different CM working over there.

I had to laugh when I saw the "blah blah blah" Cuz that's what I hear when I stop listening once I've heard the important part of the conversation.
