My family and I are planning to go to WDW May 16-23, 2009 and staying in the All Star Sports resort. It is me, my husband, and our 4 year old son. What can you tell me about the resort? How is the bus service? What are the rooms like? What is the food like? How did you like the people working at the resort? How crowded is it normally for the dates that I am going? And anything else that you think would be helpful that I haven't thought of yet. TIA for any help available.

Hi Kat! Welcome to Mousebuzz! You picked a great time of year to go (a little warm, albeit, but as far as crowds, you should be good!)

We have stayed at All Stars resorts several times with Sports being on our first visit in 1994. We stayed in Surfs Up area. As far as buses go, the 3 all stars resorts share a bus system, with sports picking up and dropping off first. (great for evening because you are first off...in mornings you are first on and then as long as there is still room on the bus you will go to AS Music then Movies).

I have always enjoyed staying at the ASResorts. Personally, sports is not my favorite, only because my family are not sports fans, but they are all fun resorts!

I have never had a bad experience at a value resort.

I can tell you that they book a lot of big groups...high school, cheerleaders etc. I would honestly try switching to Pop Century.

Being a FL resident we get the best deals at the values, and my kids and I love them all (Two girls)! They have all recently been updated with new EVERYTHING! We stayed at Sports back in May (Mother's Day Weekend) and it was VERY quiet. There were no big groups.

We tend to hit the pool around dinner time, to relax before bed . . . and there was a belly flopping contest, but the lifeguards initiated it, and "events" are posted so you know times to be there and time to avoid.

The counter service is standard stadium fare, but we don't eat at the resort, IMHO I think it's a easier to just get some food at the parks, where not everyone is vying for breakfast all at once!

I think the Values are a really good deal for the price, and I too have NEVER had a problem at one.

I have only stayed at All-Star Movies & Music but I am assuming 'Sports' in similar. I would double check your dates with hotel management if possible to see if there are any big school groups booked there during those dates. I know BIG cheerleading, sports, and other school organizations stay there a lot and it can be quite... ummmm, 'spirited' during those times.

None the less, it's Disney, they are great for the price. If I had the choice though I'd choose Movies/Music, or Pop Century.
