Why I Actually Have A Question...

For the first time ever we will be using Magical Express in January. My dh is coming down a day after us and he'll be getting a rental car, but we'll arrive the day before and need to use ME - BUT I don't want to have to wait for our luggage at the resort - can we take our luggage with us on ME? I can't believe I don't know the answer to this...

Re: Why I Actually Have A Question...

My Mom used it and they brought the luggage to the room for her, so I'm sure you can do the same if you want to go that route. But I think it would depend on how many people the were picking up and how much room/luggage you have.

Merci beaucoup McFizzy. I absolutely MUST have a shower and change my clothes as soon as I get to the resort, so I don't want to be waiting for the luggage.

Re: Why I Actually Have A Question...

What time are you checking in? My Aunt and Uncle took their luggage with them on ME, but their room wasnt ready and they ended up having to store it at the hotel, which I guess proved to be more of a problem. I dont remember exactly what happened, but I remember it was a hassle! Hopefully things will go more smoothly for you!

Re: Why I Actually Have A Question...

llama: as others have said you most certainly can pick up your luggage at the luggage carousels for your incoming flight, HOWEVER DO NOT put the yellow M E luggage tags you received on your bags becuase they will be "intercepted by M E personell and sent on their merry way to the resorts and they will not show up at the baggage claim carousel. You should only have the "airline" destination tags that your airline personell put on your luggage. Hope this makes sense.

Re: Why I Actually Have A Question...

Coming all the way from the uk we always pick up our luggage and take it down to ME ourselves.. Only because it could get lost or interferred with. not saying it would but after all the security hassle we just like to make sure. Just a bit paranoid really! LOL
But after all that we think the ME is great.
Have fun 1 week till ours

We should be there by about 4 p.m. - so hopefully our suite will be ready. Even if we do have to store it with bell services, at least I'll know it's there when I need it. I'll make sure the tags are not on it - I wouldn't like to cause a scene in the airport!

That's strange, they hold luggage all the time even for people using ME (carry on luggage). Bell services takes your bags and gives you a claim slip so you can call for it later. We do this just about every trip and it's never been an issue.

No - we've never had a problem either. We've even left groceries with them (we always shop on our way to the resort) and they'll keep it and even store the frozen stuff.

Beat me to it...yes, just check the bags as normal WITHOUT the yellow ME tags, then go to the baggage claim carousel and claim your luggage prior to heading to the ME pick-up desks. Another option might be if you can pack what you know you'll want as soon as you get to the resort in one bag and carry that one on and ME yellow tag the checked bags. Or even leaving the yellow tag off the one piece of checked luggage you want right away so you can grab that one from baggage claim and not have to handle all your other luggage would be another way to go.

Now, that's getting a mite complicated for me! I'll just leave the tags off. I'll only have one suitcase, anyway.
