Paying to change reservation?
At Christmas I made reservations for Disney for my daughter and her boyfriend and myself. When the fairytale deal came out, I changed the reservation from 5 days to 8days/7 nights.
Now, here is my dilemma.....the teenage love is over. I called my travel agent to change the room reservation to include my daughters girlfriend. She talked to Disney who said that I would be charged $50 plus fees to mail new documents OR I could just leave the reservation as it stands but the hopper ticket will still have the boys name on it. I'm not sure what to do? I paid for two adult packages and one teen. In reality, I now have 1 adult and two teens, but I was told by the travel agent it really did not matter about the package set up....the cost would be the same. Would you change the reservations to be honest or risk it? The only place the card would be an issue is when it is scanned for entrance into the park. Any one know if they can see the name on the card to compare the person to the name? :dazed |

Good question. The $50 fee is because you are within the 45 day period before your arrival. The cost for anyone over 10 is the same, so that won't matter. Personally, I wouldn't change it, and just not worry about it. If you feel a little uncomfortable about that, just have the two kids hang around outside for a little while, while you check in. With the Fairy Tale package, the tickets are also room keys, so you could just tell them you made a mistake, and want the name changed on the room key. I don't think anyone will even mention it.

I wouldn't worry about it. A couple of years ago, a cast member got us a great rate on a room and then was unable to stay with us. The keys (which were also the charge card) were under their name - even though the charges and reservations were on my card and my name. In fact both my guest and I had key cards with our castmember friend's name on it. I still have it. I was able to use it to enter the park, order meals, and buy souvenirs - all charged to my own card, not the person who's named on it.
More recently, though - when I just stayed at Disney, the keys given to me BOTH had my name on it, even though one was for my dad. It's not like you're getting away with anything. You've paid and you're the one who's paying, so it doesn't really matter then, unless you had some reason it was going to be personalized. Does your trip include a flight? Maybe that's what they can't change?
