Re: Pop Century washer and drier

I used them just last week and they were absolutely clean. There was even a cleaning lady who came in while I was there and checked over everything and cleaned up a little. It was only $2.00 to wash a very large load and the dryers were very efficient. Everything was dry in one cycle. There was however a guy who took $10 out of his wallet, laid it on the counter and turned around to use the change machine 2 steps away. By the time his change dropped his wallet was gone and the man who stole it was going out the door. There are no cameras in there either and security isn't allowed to confront the person.

We always use them, if it looks questionable then I run an empty load of bleach and soap first to clean!!!

Re: Pop Century washer and drier

We used the washers/dryers in 2005.
I was glad that they were there, I would rather do a load then have a stain wait a week until I get home.

I look at it as I don't have to take as many clothes with me, and I almost always end up with something on my shirt.
If it is a problem make sure you have enough smalls (bras/underwear/socks) for the week, and only wash what you have to.

We are planning to use them again this time in September.

107 days and counting....

Re: Pop Century washer and drier

How much does it cost to wash/dry? I usually pack an outfit for everyday, but want to pack light on our upcoming trip, so I'll probably need to do a load or two while we're there.

It was only $2 to wash a big load, and I think it was $2 for 30 min. to dry, but not positive on that-they were dry the 1st time though.

Machine washing and drying clothes is very close to sterilization. You would have no problem.

Otherwise millions of laundromat users would be dropping like flies.

Re: Pop Century washer and drier

I'm a bit germophobic. I travel with a can of Lysol and always spray the floors, bathrooms, drapes, air conditioning vents, shower curtain and fixtures, bed. EVERYTHING gets treated. On my first trip to Disney I was there for three days before I realized that I never sprayed!? The room felt that comfortable and inviting.

Unfortunately, subsequent trips were not the same. Food bits under tables or chairs, hairs in the sink, and in the ASMusic, a 4", unidentifiable, brown stain in the middle of the curtain. I started spraying again.
