Conditions at POR

Hi, we are leaving on Wednesday for our trip to POR. I was lurking on some other sites and see that POR was disappointing to some guests. Trash at the bus stops, slow bus service, rooms not cleaned till afternoon (real nice for small ones needing naps), etc. Has anyone returned from POR recently? What were your experiences?? I'm starting to worry. 5 people in our group have never been to Disney before and I was so hoping their first visit would be magical. :nervous

Thanks, Darlene

Hello,

We actually stayed at POR last September. We liked it very much and none of what you described seemed to be going on. We are actually staying there again this fall.

We have been there several times for weekend trips and also one nighters. We have never been disappointed in POR. We have stayed both in the Mansions and the Bayou and liked both. we will be going back again in the fall.

We just returned from POR. I am sorry to say we were very disappointed. The resort is beautiful but the they have cut back so much on the staff that it is very noticable. The wait for the buses was terrible. Even on the 4th of July, which they know a head of time how busy they will be, the buses were few and far between, both leaving the resort and coming back. Our room was cleaned most mornngs but there were a few afternoons that it wasn't done til close to 2. The food court was very understaffed and the cast members were all complaining to each other. We have made Disney an annual trip for many years so I feel that I have a good point of comparison and I think it is very sad that their cuts have impacted their guests. On a happy note, we did get to go on Mission Space and it was awesome!

My family and I just returned from POR. We were there 7/9 - 16. I was sorry to see the above post about how disappointed they were. This was my first time at this resort and it is now my favorite!!!!!

We never waited more than 10 - 15 minutes for a bus (the usual wait was about 5 minutes). I thought that there were a lot of buses running. We stayed in Acadia House and our room was cleaned everyday by the time we returned at 1 pm for my two year old to nap.

I loved every minute of our stay there. The grounds were beautiful and the service was excellent.

Let me know if you have any other questions before you leave tomorrow.

Have a great time!

Pudge aka Amy
