Re: Where to request for POFQ

This is why I love the POFQ. You don't have to pay extra to be close to the buses or food court :)

They will melt in your mouth...think funnel cake good. You can get the large one for a snack credit if you are on the DDP. The large easily feeds 2-3 people for breakfast.

Re: Where to request for POFQ

After reading all these responses, I think POFQ might be the place for my Dec 2010 vacation with my young nieces and nephews (ages 6, and twin 9 yr olds)but I would like a second opinion,

POFQ or one of the values resorts especially when we will be at the parks for most of the day?

Which would you choose and why?

It is up to you weather a moderate resort is "worth the money" over a value resort. We love the moderate resorts, but there are people who also love the value resorts and would rather save the difference in money, and there are people who love the deluxe resorts and wouldn't stay anywhere else. It is all really all dependent on you personal preference and the amount of money you are willing to spend.

We think POFQ is definately "worth the money".

Re: Where to request for POFQ

I'll let you know is about a month!

I have always been a value person, why spend the extra money when all I need is a bed and shower. When we planned this trip, they didn't have any free dining rooms in value so we went with the moderate.

Re: Where to request for POFQ

Thank you everyone. This is great info. We are staying at POFQ in February.

Having stayed at value, moderates, and deluxe hotels, you would think it would be easy to say whether it was worth it to stay at a moderate v. value. Its tough! I did see someone had some a list of pros/cons for each. From what I can tell, the best value is POP. The difference: rooms are smaller, no sit down restaurant, no hot tub, and the place is FILLED with kids - sometimes groups (cheerleaders, dancers, etc). POP food court is great - as good as any moderate that I have stayed at. My kids (7, 11, 14) prefer to Pop to anything. - We stayed at the Beach Club last year and my daughter, 6 at the time, kept asking when "are we going to go back to POP". She has chosen POFQ this time b/c of the dragon pool.

All hotels have the Disney feel and the Disney customer service. And, if you are trying to watch dollars, I would rather stay at a value than a moderate and have extra money.

Thanks Sue299 - I look forward to your comparison when you get back.

Thanks

Re: Where to request for POFQ

POFQ is great for the feel of historic new Orleans... Small cobblestone streets, iron railings, authentic furnishings, horse drawn carriages, etc. It does not have the most exotic pool, but it looks fun, large enough, and clean... Can't complain after that. It has beignets, and all of the buildings have the feeling of being right there, close to everything. Out the back of the resort is the boat that goes to DTD- the kids LOVED IT!!!! We have stayed there 3 times in a row, and were in buildings 4, 5 and then 2. Well, building 2 had our room two doors from the end stairs next to the food court. So, we could not have gotten any closer, unless we were next door. We were stunned at how close we were.

Buss service is usually great too. I can't compare any of this to the values, but for the atmosphere, I give this hotel a 5 out of 5!!!!! We love it!!!!
