Re: POR info needed...

my choice is POR ...my favorite...period ....many years ago they rumored to convert to DVC ...but nixed it because it was way to costly to convert ,but my favorite is MB ....but if need the trudle then you have no choice ,please do research the buildinds because some buildings are far from food court ...and shortcuts are sometimes required ....But POR is my favorite ,even above our home DVC SSR

Re: POR info needed...

well we love POR as a family and stay there pretty much each time we come over. We usually stay in the Magnolia bend section in Arcadia building which is one of the more oppulent buildings. However, this time we come, we are more than likely having to stay in the Alligator bayou buildings -which are the more rustic style buildings- as we will have 5 in our party so my daughter will need the trundle. I have been told that the Trundles can only go into the Allligator bayou rooms, but I can't confirm if this is indeed correct.
POR is an awesome resort. Loads of swimming pools dotted around the resort as well as Ol' man island in the centre which is great. The foodcourt is fab and has everything (except beignets I am afraid to say...).
I would heartily recommend the resort and have nothing bad to say about it. Why don't you jsut tell the boys that they can still have the best of the best of both worlds and when they want to go on the dragon slide, just grab the boat that links the two resorts and they can be there in a flash?

Re: POR info needed...

You all feel that you cannot have 5 people in any room yet every resort offers 'roll-a-way' beds. For a price, everyone can have one. If you have 4 people in the room, two of which don't want to share a bed...and of course it works for 5 people as well.

ok, that's me thinking that they'd allow 5 with a rollaway

We're a family of five and the only moderate that we've been able to book 5 people to a room is POR. One of tha All Stars will allow 5 in their family suite, or you can go into a suite at one of the Deluxe resorts.

Rats, I thought I had a good idea here. Oh well...
But at least it is at the best moderate resort

Dh thought that to, til logic kicked in $50 a night for a roll away or $150+taxes for an extra room at the moderate hotel you really want or etc?

So far we're sticking w/ POR and working fil over til he says yay or nay about the 3/2010 trip. I still can't book til I get right up on the date though, but at least I can figure out what I want.

When the girls were younger (3,4,7) we tried to book a value room on a last minute trip (2 week notice) and was told no. We could have a pack-n-play for the 5th person (which she was too big for or a roll-a-way for the 4th, but we could not have a roll-a-way for a 5th person unless we went to (then) Dixie Landings or a Deluxe. This I truly did not understand. An extra bed is an extra bed but according to the cm if they're not coded for 5, which values & most mod's aren't then only 4 can stay(which still doesn't make sense if they allow a pack-n-play).

Neither PO's have appealed to us to stay at while at Disney. They're both beautiful and extremely cultural but it's kinda like not leaving home or living on the beach yet booking CBR to vacate at.

Completely understand about giving things up. I wanted to stay at the Poly so that was considered our anniversary present to each other. No other gifts. Matter of fact only card either of us got was from Micky & Minnie. I know, that was bad.

It'll all work out. You tell grandpa that if he doesn't change his mind about the resort, you'll get a wheel chair upon returning home and let him free roll down the hill behind your house. That will help him make up his mind
Or you tell him that you have found a really quaint old folks home for him to move into.
Or maybe you'll be just very nice and beg

ROFLMBO Can I push him down the hill behind his house instead?? lol

Thing is I live in Southwest Fl, biggest hill I've got is an ant hill or my driveway. lol. He technically has until almost March, since dh's work will dictate the true date & amt of time til we go. But I'm worse than a kid and can't settle down until I know where I'm going. I even have a count down on my FB.
