The confirmation number will have 8 digits. Older confirmations have just numbers, while some of the newer confirmations will have letters in the second and third places.

You should be able to check in just fine with an agency-booked reservation. Make sure you're using the "http://mydisneyreservation.com/guest" URL.

Re: You know what stinks?

We went to WDW two weekends ago and we used the online check-in. The only thing I could not do for some weird reason was put my credit card on file. When I checked in at the resort everything was ready. And at that time I was able to set up the credit line. We have booked with Magical Journeys several times and we have always been able to do online check-in. This was the first time we had the credit card issue. Just a fluke...

Yup, that's not what I have. I have all numbers. It really isn't important. I just thought, since it gets me playing with Disney, that I should try it and see. I don't really expect a busy lobby when we get there on a Sunday morning around 11am, or should I?

Re: You know what stinks?

I booked my upcoming reservation with an "official", "authorized" Disney travel agency. My confirmation # has 8 digits, with the 2nd and 3rd being letters. I was able to log into my reservation on the Disney site, but have not been able to make dining reservations on line. It says they prefer for us to make dining reservations by phone. I don't know if I'll be able to check in on line or not, but if I can't, that's no big deal. I'll just be happy to get there!

That's a good attitude to have. Go pack your suitcases, you only have 33 days to do it.

Re: You know what stinks?

When you book through a travel agent, the TRAVEL AGENT owns the reservation, not you. From a strictly legal standpoint, you have no legal standing to make any changes to or even see your reservation before the moment of check-in at the resort front desk. Until the moment of check-in, that reservation is technically NOT YOURS to do anything with.

This is the trade-off you make when you book through a travel agent versus the vendor itself. It is this way throughout the hospitality industry, it's not unique to Disney.

If your travel agent decides to give you your actual reservation number, that is their choice, but they are under no obligation to do so.

As we've already read, PACKAGE reservations are 8 characters in length. But room-only reservations are 12 characters in length.
