Early check in @ CBR

We are driving to Disney 10/11, arriving sometime after midnight. My ressies begin 10/12 at CBR for 7 nights. I would like to check in at CBR and avoid the hassle of moving from an area hotel to CBR the next morning. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with checking into a Disney resort late night without a reservation? What are the odds that there will be an available room that night? Hmmm, maybe I could call them from the road to see if there are any rooms available for that one night and just move to my preferred location the next day? What do you think?

I have read somewhere that the resorts pro-rate room rates for late check outs, I was wondering if they will do the same for late-check ins, you know trying to sell the unbooked room..Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Why not call now to add the extra night?? And discuss the options with them I'm sure they will do everything they can to accomodate you.

I have checked into WDW resorts as late as 2am. I did have a reservation. They do not pro-rate late check-ins.

Like you are thinking, I found it easier to get settled in our room the very first night so we could get on with our vacation as soon as we awoke. It was so nice not having to change rooms/hotel right away.

willbegone:

I made ressies thru disney club should I call them to add extra night or call cro?

jmouse: this is my first onsite stay and I know disney is in a class by itself! That said "Is there a such thing as walk-in rooms available" Excuse my disignorance:) It seems that if there were rooms avail at midnight they would offer them at a discount to fill empty rooms.

Thanks guys for holding my hand....

I would call who ever you made the original ressies from first and let them direct you. Mickey could definetly answer this much better than me. This past year we drove all the wayd down on Friday and stayed at the Hampton Inn - Convention Center and then went to WDW bright and early on Saturday Morning and checked into CBR at 8:30AM. What we did was packed a small bag for Friday night so we didn't have to unload everything. We were at MGM at 10AM the day we arrived.

That's exactly what we are planning on doing. DH gets off at 6 pm and we will leave from there. I made the resservations with the FTP so hopefully they'll be able to help! Thanks

If your reservation begins on 10/12, then Disney recommends that you do not checkin until 2 pm on 10/12. If you're there earlier, you may have to wait for your room until 2 pm on 10/12. I recommend that you telephone whomever you made the original reservation with, and explain your situation to them. Let them recommend what to do and let them handle it.
(also ask if there is an additional charge for making your changes-you may be surprised).
I arrived at 11 am on the day of my reservation, and Disney didn't have a room for me until 3 pm. Arriving even 4 hours early was a problem that day.

It seems to me that the rooms are more likely to be available at All-Star resorts if you check in early because of the number of rooms that are at each resort. The last 3 times I have stayed at Disney's All-Stars,my room was ready when i checked in before 9 in the morning.

Added extra night...need codes

I called disney club and added the extra night to my package and I was quoted $136.xx w/DC discount. The CM noted on the ressie that we'd be arriving after midnight but now my concern is will I be able to get my building location preference? :hmmm I don't want to placed in Trinadad South! Anyone had any luck getting your desired location when checking in so late?

We're driving straight thru from STL in about two weeks! It's about a 14-hour trip. We have Fairytale Pkg. ressies at CBR, but we'll be arriving evening before, so we're staying one nite at the Lake Buena Vista Resort near Downtown Disney Marketplace. We've done that a couple other times as well - each time at a different non-Disney hotel. It gives us a chance to relax, ease into "doing Disney" and see how the "other half" lives before we really start our vaka ON SITE (the only way to go).

phayes93 We were thinking of staying off site the first night too and we are only coming 7 hours...but it will be late when we get there and I wanted to get a good night sleep before hitting the parks without having to check out of one into another. If I don't find any codes before the trip then we'll probably stay off site to save $$$, I can't see paying 136.XX for just a few hours, that money can be used to buy more souvenirs :)

Please be sure to post your likes and dislikes (if any) about CBR. This is our first trip on site and I like to read everything I can about the resort especially your room location, I still don't have a good idea about the building locations and how far to OPR from each.

Thanks

Are you a Florida Resident???

You said in your post you are driving only 7 hours, to disney. I live 8 hours away (florida resident). I called CBR at 6 am CST (florida panhandle), since CRO opens at 7 am EST and booked CBR at a rate of $88 per night:laugh (standard view; $99 per night-lake/pool view), including tax (total paid under $530, for 6 nights) and requested either, Jamaica or Aruba. When I called to inquire about availability, she quoted me $136 per night, for a standard view and $146 per night, for lake/pool view. I had to ASK for rate code "CAM" (Florida residents rate) to get the $88 per night, my agent was Gemini. If you don't ask for the rate code, they will not tell you, that's just my experience:madmad. With this rate code, you, also, get excellent rates at the Value, Deluxe and other resorts. I got the code from one of the posts here, on DisneyCentral, this is an incredible site. I had made reservations for Doubletree Guest Suites in Downtown Disney, at first, then I saw the rate code posted here, needless to say, I changed my mind QUICKLY!!! I hope this helps you. Have a great vacation.

:)

Is that CAM rate for after August 23rd? I wasn't aware of any new codes coming out yet for after 8/23.

Rate Code

Yes. We are booked for 09/01-07/2003, and used rate code CAM, for Florida residents.
