Wilderness Lodge -2 Questions

Just found this board a couple of days ago and the info has been helpful.

I'm sheduled to stay at the Wilderness lodge the second week in November.

Two questions:

Does anyone know if the Magic Kingdom has special hours or events for Veterens Day??

They'll be a birthday being celebrated while we're there and was wondering if a something can be made up and set up in the room while we're out?

I'm not sure of your question #1. November hours haven't been posted yet, but maybe some others here can tell you what traditional hours over Veterans day are.

Question #2) Make sure you either call the front desk or tell them at check who in your party is having a birthday. For my parents anniversary and for my brother in law's birthday, they sent up beautiful cards with pictures of Mickey and Minnie and Goofy (autographed and personalized) for each of them. Also several "wilderness lodge" balloons.

If you want WDW to make something up for you, you could call the WDW Florist http://www.yourfairytale.com/baskets.html or check out Gifts of a Lifetime http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/. Both can make something up and send it to your room.

Now if i can just find out if MK is open longer on Veterans/Armistance Day i'll be good to go.

Forgot that the parks do close earlier in the Fall / Winter months.

We were there over Veteran's Day a couple of years ago, and there was no noticable differnce in the park hours from day to day. Disney only adjust park hours based on estimated attendance, and Veteran's Day doesn't even cause a small blip on the Disney radar.

There may be special events on Veteran's Day inside the parks, though I don't know if any have been announced. I will see if I can find anything from last year.

Thanks for all the assistance. I figured this would be a higher attendance day being a federal holiday maybe with longer hours. Didnt realize it was in there when i booked, was trying to avoid the soap opera crush :)
