All Star Lighting?

I have a question for those of you that have stayed in the All Star Movies Resort. At night how bright is it by the pools? I mean would the room be very dark with the shades closed?

Thanks
Jen

The brightness of your room depend on how close to the pool and whether you'll be on the top or bottom. I truly feel that the top rooms are "brighter" than the bottom. Maybe that's just a psychological thing with me. Also, the pool is pretty bright, but the curtains in the room are pretty thick, so the room would be dark. That's my opinion on ASMov; I'm staying at ASMus in Nov, but I imagine the two are similar in room composition.

Thanks! I wanted to make sure that after all we'll be taking in that when we get back to the resort we can sleep. My son needs it to be very dark or he'll continue to sit up and talk.

Jenny, It is brighter on the second story. But a word of advice. It can still be fairly noisy @ midnight close to the pool. The last 2 times we stayed there, they didn't seem to close the pool area until late and then had all the noise of everyone going back to their rooms. It didn't bother me, but my duaghter kept waking up.

How many stories high are the buildings? Are the pools still open at midnight or it's the noise from the people coming back from the parks and DTD?

Thanks
Jen

The buildings are 2 stories high. The pools normally close at 11:00, but both trips there, they didnt enforce it until around midnight, the noise was just the kids and people leaving the pool going back to their rooms.

Don't forget about the 2-2:30 morning crowd coming back from Pleasure Island, not a big concern but worth mentioning.
The draperies are pretty heavy, my Ds's were able to nap during the afternoons, and it was pretty dark. Then again, they were so pooped, they probably could have fallen asleep anywhere!

I'm trying to decide if we should stay in the rooms by the pool or stay in the Toy Story buildings. But it sounds like no matter what area you stay in you may have noise which is not a problem, we can sleep through anything as long as we have a room that is not lit up. Anybody ever stayed in both areas?

Thanks
Jen

I find that the drapes keep out the light very well also, I think noise will be a much bigger concern, the light should not phase any of you if you pull the drapes completely.

No Jen, only the preferred buildings have an additional cost to them. There are elevators just in case you are wondering.

hi Jen, the Toy Story always tends to book out the first, I know when we tried, it was always unavailable, for our timing.

Den, how far out did you book your stay? Is it true that you can request the building, but not guaranteed to get it? Or is that requesting a particluar room?
