Another question on my part. After reading reviews about the Wilderness' transportation I'm getting a little worried about some early morning tours / and breakfasts. I guess my biggest concern is getting to Epcot for an 8:30 Breakfast followed by a dolphins in depth.

What time does the first launch from the WIlderness to Contemporary usually leave? From what I've read i think i want to try to get to the contemporary and take the monorail down to Epcot. Want to do this with time to spare. So the earliest Contemporary launch will probably be what I'm after.

Also is the TTC within walking distance? Can i catch a monorail there? Or is that just buses?


I guess i should also ask what time the first bus would leave to the Animal Kingdom as well. Dummy that I am I've gone and booked an 8am breakfast. Can still change this is the odds of getting there are against me. It appears that this is an early admit day to.

I just got back from WL last week and thought the transportation was great. We used the launch as much as possible--to MK or the CR to get the monorail to the TT center. We went to Early Enrty as often as we could and the boat the the CR was always running when we went down to the dock. I would have to say that we were on the dock by 7:30 at least two days and the boat the the CR was running both times. (You could also take the launch to the MK and get the Resort monorail to the CR then to the TT.)

Of you don't get a more specific answer, I am sure you could ask at check in for an exact time but i think you should make your PS at 8:30.

As for walking to the TT center, I read on wdwig that it was an option but we didn't look into it during our stay.

You can't walk to the TTC from the WL as walking is not permitted on the roadways.

The resorts have an early bus running to the parks each day for those guests having early breakfast ressies. Just ask at Guest Services what time you need to catch the bus.

You know i swore i read something about walking on the WDWIG site too but i can't find the page where it talked about it.

Do you perhaps have the link?

Did read your trip report :) Third trip this nov and I have yet to see the Spectro magic parade...ahh gives me something to keep going back for

I read it just today, I swear, and now I can't find it. If you hadn't read it too I would think I am going crazy.

You can walk from the Polynesian to the TTC, but not from the WL I dont believe. You can, however, walk from the WL to Fort Wilderness. There is a very nice trail.

I FOUND THE INFORMATION. Go to http://wdwig.com/faq_wl.htm and scroll down to where it says "How do I Get to....... " about 1/2 way down the page. It tells you your transportation options and there is a similar section for each of the Disney Resorts.

Also, if it is an Early Entry day at AK, then the buses should be running plenty early for you to get there in time. Just aske at the front desk.

Just make it simple on yourself and take buses to your early morning breakfasts. Disney knows that you are able to make very early morning PS's and they run their buses that much earlier to account for it. We had to go from ASM to Polynesian for an early morning breakfast once and they accomidated us on Buses np. Also, keep in mind, if you run over your PS time, the staff will still work you in quickly once you do arrive. They understand that delays do happen, but they do not want to ruin your vacation because of it. :D

Also keep in mind that there is no bus service from WL to MK.

We stayed at the GF last time and didnt have this meal plan to contend with so it was cereal and OJ in the room.

This is the first time i have to try to figure out how to get everywhere and make these PS meals.

My biggest concerm was Epcot. I had made the PS for the princess breakfast at 8:30. I have a 9:45 Dolphins in Depth to make so I dont want to get into a delay situation.

AK was at 8am but if I'm late will deal with it.


As its not a peak time sounds like transportation operates a little better. And thanks for the link. Our first day in will be an exploration so I'll check on getting around and probably do some test runs ;) Any excuse to swing into MK ahead of the planned time! :p

You do realize that to meet up for your tour, you will have to walk all the way back to outside the front gates of Epcot. We always allow an hour and a half for character meals. Your 8:30 ressie time is your check-in time and not a guaranteed seating time. You can be seated after that time, not leaving you much time to swallow your breakfast and run back to the park entrance.

Actually plan to be there well before the ressie time. We never tend to spend more than half an hour eating so it should work...I hope. Brisk walk...how long would estimate back to the gates? 15 minutes?
