all-star movies

hey everyone. rob and i are still in the process of planning our wedding. we're picking the hotels for our guests to stay at. so far, we've picked the all-star movies resort as one of the options. if anyone has stayed the all-star movies, please let me know. any kind of comments, suggestions, anything related to the all-star movies will be very appreciated. thank you to those who respond in advance.

(we have two more resorts to pick. i'll let you know which ones they are and do just the same thing that i'm doing now)

When are you getting married? The Pop Century resorts could be a nice choice if it will generally be more adults than kids.

Hey, Tragic:

First off, congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. How exciting to be getting married at WDW.

Second, I've stayed at the ASMovies and really enjoyed it. The rooms are nice, a little small, but on the whole, the resort is a wonderful place to stay. The pool is nice and big, and the ambience is definitely over-the-top Disney style! The food court is good -- lotsa choices-- and there is the added benefit to the transportation, of course.

ASMo is certainly the most economical WDW property, if that's your intent. How long will your guests be staying and what, exactly, are they wanting to do while in WDW (other than attend your awesome wedding)?

Good luck! I enjoyed ASMo...it was the least expensive way to enjoy that Disney magic! :)

thanks guys for your help. the date is still up in the air as of right now. i'm not sure about how long the guests will stay. there is just so much that has to be thought and planned out for this and it's a little difficult with rob working all the time and then sleeping half of the day. but, we're managing right now.

My family gives the All Star Movies Resort an A+ for value, convenience, and ambience! We stay there every time we go to Disney because not only is the price right, but the whole place is wonderful. We love the movie theming, the pools are great, and the food court is nice. My husband and I like the food court at Movies better than the Sports Resort (where we stayed before Movies opened) because instead of a big rectangle shape like Sports has, which seems to amplify the noise to a tremendous level, the food court at Movies is shaped like an elbow. It seems to muffle the noise to a MUCH more bearable level. Anyway, we love the Movies Resort and plan to continue staying there in the future. A big plus is that with the money we save by staying in a "value resort" we get to stay a couple of extra nights each time!

at first we were going to go with the all-star sports resort. we figured it would be best for those sports fans. but then it occured to us that the rest of the families maybe do not like sports. so, it was a toss up between music and movies. so, needless to say, we went with the movies. we went with the movies because of the atmosphere of the whole hotel. a lot of people like movies and it would suit everyone that choses this hotel.

i'm really appreciating all the feedback the movies is getting. it's making the decision we made make us feel so good knowing we made a good choice. thanks everyone.

We have stayed at All Stars Movies several times and really enjoyed it. It is a great resort! It's upbeat and very family oriented. You cannot beat the value either....

Please check out the MANY threads that have been posted on DC by going to the home page and in the search option type "All Stars". You will find lots of opinions and suggestions.

Also, for a full description of the resort and facts about it, go here: http://www.wdwig.com/faq_asmv.htm

and

For photos of the resort, go to: http://www.wdwig.com/g_asm.htm

I would give it an A+ for theming and value. I would give it an A+ for the Disney magic. I would have to give the room size a B. But the rooms are spotless and the cast members are super!

Yes, the rooms are a little small, but we spend so little time in them other than to sleep, it doesn't seem to matter! ;) And like you said, they're always very clean and chock full of Disney Magic.

No, the All-Star Resorts don't offer bunk beds. I wish they did because we always stay in the All Star Movies, and my kids would love bunkbeds!

There is a Fantasia pool as well as the Mighty Ducks pool. I love the Fantasia pool with its Sorcerer Mickey fountain!
