???Mousekeeping???

I am curious. I have seen many posts regarding mousekeeping leaving towel animals in people's rooms and leaving a card with the mousekeepers name on it. When we stayed at AKL in May I left a tip each day for mousekeeping but we never once had a card with the mousekeepers name on it to leave the money with so I wound up just writing "Mousekeeping-- THANKS!" on the hotel stationary everyday. So my question is do most of the resorts have cards for the mousekeepers to leave in the rooms or are the people who have received the cards and towel animals just a lucky bunch?:p

I've stayed at All Stars quite a few times, mostly on just weekends. This last stay was for a week, and we did recieve towel animals 2 days, one of them being my son's Bday. All of the other trips we have received nothing. Maybe they only do that for guests that stay more than a couple days????

I have never seen them leave cards w/their names on them. (We did recieve a Bday card for my son.) It seems to me they used to put out envelopes, but i haven't even seen that lately. I always print up my own envelopes that say mousekeeping on them now.

We've stayed at the All Star Movies for years (usually for at least 5 days), and we've never gotten envelopes, cards, or towel animals. They often reposition my children's stuffed animals into cute, funny poses though.

We have stayed at the AKL twice, for 8 days each time. We didn't get any animal towels the first time but we did the second time. Not every night but on about 3 nights. I think it has to do with who is making up your room. Maybe not everyone knows how to make the animals.

Thanks for the info. I imagine that everyone probably does not know how to make the animals but it would be fun to get them once in awhile, anyhow, the thing I would really like would be the cards to leave the tip with. I guess I will make my own next time like so many people here seem to do. I just felt like writing "Mousekeeping--Thanks" on a piece of paper every morning was kind of cheesy I would rather have a cute card to leave the tip with.

This is probably a dumb question, but when you are leaving tips for Mousekeeping, do you leave them daily or at the end of the week? I assume daily because the people could change?

I always leave tips daily. In the morning before we leave I put the tip with a note somewhere that I am sure mousekeeping will see it, they always do.;)

We just got back from the WL and we had a card on the vanity with our Mousekeeper's name on it (same card all 8 days). I put a tip in the card every morning and left it in the same spot. Every single afternoon when we returned from the park we had two towel animals with stickers. She even arranged the bath mat in a cool shape with a washcloth. My inlaws forgot the tip the first day and still got the animals that day.

Shhhh....I also took all the soaps, shampoos, lotions and shower caps and put them in my bag every day and she always left more for us. She had to know that we couldn't possibly be using that much soap but she left it anyway. In the past at CBR we didn't get new every day when I took them.

I guess it all depends on who your Mousekeeper is.

mousekeeping

I stayed at POR in may and left a tip everyday and only once they arranged my kids stuffed animals on the bed. She did leave a card on the bathroom vanity with her name on it once. We never had any animal shaped towels but thats OK, our room was always clean when we came back after being at the parks all day.

We have stayed four times at POR over the years and three out of the four times we had animals from towels. I tip once for the whole trip however I will from now on tip daily. We stayed at WL last year my son had purchased Stuard Little when we came back to the room one day their was a aligator made from the towel and Stuard's leg inside it mouth it was very funny and my son tells that story everytime he tells someone about Disney:D

We haven't seen any towel animals since our stay at GF in 1998!!! We leave tips daily since there could be several different housekeepers in a week. I always leave it in an envelope I print out from those sites already mentioned. We did get a card with the housekeeper's name on it when we stayed at WL, but nowhere else.

When we stayed at the All Stars, we left a tip on top of the t.v. We did not have any envelopes. Every day when we got back from the parks, we found towel animals and our kids stuffed animals in difeerent arrangemnets. Very cute. We also saw a lot of room windows with towel arrangments.

This year we stayed at WL. We brought "mousekeeping" envelopes from the link above posted by mmouse67l.
Unfortunatley we never got a towel animal. We were disppointed but never made a big deal out of it. Everyday the kids were excited to see what the maid had done, but there was no treat this year.:(

We are staying at POR in October, I hope that mousekeeping will make towel animals for us. I could tell last year that their were fewer CM and I am wondering if the cuts mean that mousekeeping just does not have time for anything but cleaning the rooms. If that is the case it will be a shame, my kids love going back in the room and see what suprise mousekeeping left for them. :hmmm
