If they continue to shut out Annual Passholders,DVC members, and people who already have passes, they will have a revolt on their hands.

TRUE THAT!
My AP suits me fine since I will be going for more than 14 days in one year, but I won't be doing the Poly as expected next December if they keep this up. HELLO POP CENTURY!

What if you are staying more than 3 nights? Same prices? Call me crazy, but if I had two adults and two children, wouldn't I get off cheaper buying my tickets and room separately? We have reservations at ASMo. I came up with around $1250 for tickets and room. With the package it's over $1900!

The prices shown in the post reflect a 3 night stay, the minimum number of nights available under the package. More nights, more cost.

When you compare pricing the package to an ala carte reservation, you have to be sure you are comparing like components.

Please help.....Am I missing something. It doesn't seem like that bad of a deal....Ex: 7 nights Wilderness Lodge (Courtyard room) at a room only reservation = $1951.32 + PHP tickets (6 days) for a family of four $998. Total = $2949.31

I can get a Package with hotel (7 nights) & UPH tickets (Wilderness Lodge - Courtyard room) $2438.20. A difference of $511.31.

I'm thinking of booking it and then upgrading if a better packge or AP rates come out...any thoughts?

It's not a bad deal if you need tickets and will be visiting a Disney park each day of your stay. The room is discounted in the package.

What is the price if you are staying at a moderate resort?

I called about POR as well. The rate I was quoted for 7 nights was $2087 for a water view (2 adults / 2 kids). If you just book a room res. & tickets seperately, your probably looking at approx: $2250. Your saving approx: $175 by booking the winter dream.

I sure hope they continue to use room only discounts. This is by far the cheapest way to enjoy the world.

Here is how we did WDW this year (June). All numbers listed includes taxes.

Discounted room using code
5 nights at WL (standard room) $775
(2) 4 day park hopper tickets adult $408
(2) 4 day park hopper tickets child $323
Total $1506

If we didn't have discount the room at WL would have been $1332.42.

We saved $557 by using discount code.

If I booked the same nights at WL (standard room) with the Winter Package it would cost $2257. That's $751 more than what I paid. Wow!!! That's a lot for the only added benefit is an Ultimate Hopper pass.

Even if I paid full price for the room and bought (4) 4 day park hoppers it would have cost $2063. I still would have saved $194.

I just don't get how the package saves any money.

You are correct...but are there any room only discounts at this time? If there are not, then you are saving money by purchasing the package, rather than booking a room seperately with what Disney is currently offering. If there are any room only discounts available, if anyone could pass them along, i would sure like to use it rather than the package.

hskrshawn says you're saving by purchasing the package, but rlander, wouldn't you have been better off purchasing everything seperately if there weren't any room only discounts. I'm with you. I don't see how it saves you money if you have 4 guests and are staying several nights. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a room only discount!!

This is why we are waiting for the AP rates to come out.
I got prices last week-end, and the CM was really nice. He explained to me it would be simplier to use my AAA discout, instead of the Disney Club. Because.......................when you use the Disney Club Disc. they have to completely cancel your reserv. , send your money back or credit your credit card. If you go with the AAA discount, they can just transfer your deposit from AAA to the AP discount. Hope I explained that ok...:nervous So, I used my AAA, and did get a fairly decent price, but of course could get a much better deal if those AP rates would come out. Yeah, right......... JOANN:)

Package prices

Just curious, does anyone know how this compares to the Fairytale package prices? It isn't as clear as the FTP savings were ("buy 4 nites, get 3 free"). Thanks!

This is what I got:

Before Winter DM package: Our trip for 6 nights/7 days (Jan, 2004) at the Poly for 5 people was $3736.90.

With the Winter DM package: Same trip, exact dates, same everything.....we paid: $2797.34.

Saved almost $1000.00! How can you argue with that?!
