Need info on Allstars

My DW has agreed to another trip to WDW in March. I convinced her since I had an Annual Pass from our trip this past June, which I purchased to get discounts on our room at the Poly.

However, I am planning on staying in the Allstars to save money. We have never stayed in any of the Allstars and was wondering what opinions you all may have.

My 2 DSs, 6 & 3, saw the pictures on the internet and thought the resorts looked fun, but DW is worried because we have never visited any of them. We are leaning towards ASMo.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.:D

Have you considered Pop Century? It is scheduled to open this December, so it will be an option for you on your trip. The price will be the same as the All-Stars.

The rooms are fairly small, and a bit plain, but they are clean, and the resorts are fun, with all the oversized icons. As long as you don't expect the Poly going in, you will enjoy them.

I have never stayed at any of the All Star resorts but have visited. The Movies is my favorite theme and seems more Disney to me than Sports or Music. But I think I may to advantage of a newer place and go with Pop Century. I think the All Star resorts look like very fun and affordable places to stay with kids.

We had talked about Pop Century, but without pictures to sale it to the DSs, I went with ASMo. They love buzz and woody and liked the looks of the pool, which they may not be able to use in March. Do you have any updated info on Pop Century, such as themes and so on. I think I read somewhere that one theme may involve Baloo, which is their all time favorite, but cannot remember where I read it at.

I think this link will help you find what you are looking for ~ http://wdwig.com/faq_pop.htm

The exact themes for each is near the bottom after the pricing.

We stayed at All Star Movies in 2001 and I loved it. Will be staying there again in December. Have no problem with it. The rooms are very bright and cheerful, very clean and transportation via WDW bus is very good also. Staff is great-food is good--nothing bad on my part. Would recommend on my part. Can't wait to arrive.:) :) :) :) :)

I haven't stayed at the All Stars yet, but one thing goofygal1975
mentioned, is that All Star Sports is the first stop to be picked up, and first to be dropped off.

If you are relying on Disney busses, it might also be a deciding factor.....I never knew they shared busses! :dazed

I have stayed at the AS resorts 3 different times. Twice at ASMo and once at ASMu.

I may be getting a little "thrifty" but for no longer than you spend in your hotel room, they are perfect.

They are a great value and your are on Disney Property which means you get all the perks associated with that.

The only drawback I have with them is that they all three share a bus and it becomes full fast. I think that Disney needs to have a bus for each resort as they do with other resorts.

We've only been during "off" times at WDW but there was a night or two when we were leaving the parks when they were closing, the lines were extremely long for the AS Resort bus. Disney called in 2-3 buses and the line quickly disappeared.

I think with your children being as young as they are, I think the ASMo would be perfect. The Pop Century might seem a little "ancient" to them. They may have a lot of questions about what the icons are or what the sayings across the roof mean.

I cannot recommend the All-Stars highly enough. Each time I have stayed there,I have been in a great,CLEAN room. I enjoyed the pool at the Music resort. It was alot of fun.

We stayed at ASMo in '99

it was pretty good. It's tough to go from a Deluxe down to Value, but you really can't beat the price.

We'll be spending one night at ASMu in Oct, then moving to Contemporary. My DD loved the icons at Movies.

We've stayed many times at various All Stars, and the real nice thing is that the kids can be kids! There's alot of action, the food court area is always hustling N' bustling with people and children, along with a huge TV going the Disney Channel playing.
And the pools are great for children of all ages.
