Room size 3 adults 2 kids

Hi everyone,

We are planning a December trip to disney. My girls are ages 4 and 8. We were planning on the Wilderness Lodge, but now my mother may come with us. Will this be an imposible feat (without going to a deluxe room) or will we have to change where we plan to stay?

Thanks so much,

Michelle

POR

This past May I stayed at POR with 5 people to a room. It was me, my parents and my 2 DD's, ages 9 and 11. The trundle bed was perfect for my 9 yr old. The room was cozy with the 5 of us but not bad at all. We didnt spend alot of time in the room anyway.

For what its worth, I love my kids, but I don't want to spend 5 days in the same room with them. We are staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins.

Other than the deluxe room, WL rooms only sleep 4 persons.

I've stayed at the WL at least 6 times in various configurations of the standard room and I personally would not think that 5 people would be comfortable. The Boardwalk Inn has some of the largest standard rooms that I've seen at any of the deluxe Disney resorts. Of course the Wilderness Cabins would be a good option if you want to stay with the Wilderness theme.

Here's a listed I posted earlier when someone was interested in room sizes. The WL and BWI usually only allow 4 in the room. Same with the AKL unless you book the deluxe room.

These are standard room sizes.

Room Sizes Are as Follows
The following is a list of the sq footage for the resorts

Poly 407

GF 403

YC 400

BC 400

Comp 394

BWI 395

AKL 344

WL 344

CB 314

POR 314

CSR 314

AS's 260

So it is true the footage goes up as you go from value to deluxe. These are based on standard rooms. But hey any room at disney is a good room.

Ft. Wilderness Cabins is the way to go.

I agree with the rest, 3 adults, and 2 children would be just a little much. Cabins would be nice, because if you were to get two connecting rooms, it would be quite costly!!! Good Luck!!!:) JOANN

Here are the options I found for 5 people:

*Standard Queen/Queen with Day bed at the Beach club
*Standard Queen/Queen with Child's bed at Boardwalk
*Standard Queen/Queen with Day bed at the Poly
*Standard Double/Double with Trundle bed at Port Orleans
*Standard Queen/Queen with Day bed at the Grand Floridian
*Standard Queen/Queen with Day bed at the Yacht club
*Standard Queen/Queen with Day bed at the Contemporary

Couldn't find anything similar at the WL...sorry.

I stayed a WL last October with my daughter and you would definately be crammed in. I don't think they allow that many in their standard room anyhow. I saw that someone recommended the WL cabins and I think that would be a good option. It is price comparable to WL anyhow and cheaper than going the deluxe room route.
