Contemporary Resort

:)

Does anyone have any opinions on The Contemporary Resort. We've stayed at the All Star, Port Orleans and Polynesian. We just booked out November 2004 vacation at the Contemporary and only have 453 days to go!

Stayed at the garden wing at a special price. Liked it for the price I payed. Would not stay there and pay full price.

Why don't you check out reviewcentral or this thread for more info and opinions...

Have stayed in Contemporary in the Tower with a MK view for all of my trips to Disney. I really don't have anything to compare it with but we love it there.

The rooms are nice and have plenty of room for 4 adults and toddler. The view from the balacony to watch the fireworks is breathtaking. Having the monorail in the lobby along with Chef Mickey's onsite is well worth it. The snack shop and arcade are nice for the kiddos as well. The pool is lacking from others I have seen posted but really cool that it is in the shape of Mickey. The beach area on the lagoon is nice.

I would recommend it and will be staying there again in Dec.

We liked CR. Have stayed in garden wing and tower. Garden ging is good if you can get a deal, other wise it is expensive for what you get. CR is also great as you can get to almost anyplayce from there... MK on the monorail or walk can also hop the monorail to get to EPCOT (switch at TTC).

Found the service a little lacking compared to other Delux resorts that we have stayed at (AKL, BWI, GF & Y&B). :(

The pool does leave a lot to be desired :nooo: , but we do not go to WDW to go swimming... PARKS, PARKS, PARKS & PARKS!!!

Good resteraunts on site... California Grill, Concorse Steak House & Chef Mickeys (always a favorite).

Plan on going back there next year after out WL trip this Christmas. :) :) :)

We really enjoyed the CR. We stayed there in May of 2003. We had a really good deal on our room rate. We reserved a varible view room and really lucked out. We ended up in the tower room with a view of the lake and the MK.
It was really great to wake up sit on the balcony and have a great view. We also watched the fireworks and the water parade from our room.
As metioned earlier thier are great places to eat at the CR and the food court is good too.
My daughter loved the arcade.
Also being on the monorail line was great.

Would love to go back!

1st and last time I was at the contemporary resort was April 1986, yes you read right 1986 needless to say it was very nice and also one of the only places to stay (along with the poly, unsure if there were any others) but it was a real nice place back then but I was only 21 and really had nothing to judge it with!!

I am looking forward to seeing it again when we have breakfast @ Chef Mickey's!

The Contemporary is the best resort anywhere! The view from a tower room cannot be beat. In May I stayed in room 4741, Magic Kingdom view, and boy was it amazing! I loved spending hours on the balcony watching the World go on around me. A short walk to the MK, and a quick monorail drive to the Poly, GF, and Epcot (via the TTC, of course). I cannot say enough good things about the view. I could see the MK, Poly, TTC, GF, the Seven Seas Lagoon, the Electric Water Pageant when it was at the GF, the fireworks, the beautiful lights of Tomorrowland, and with binoculars I could see monorails in the TTC and MK stations and people walking around in Tomorrowland! I also saw (and heard!) them switch the monorails onto the garage (?) beam at night. The Fiesta Fun Center is great and the arcade is huge. The room was enormous. The one and only problem I had when I was there was that someone on a floor above us was flicking cigarettes off their balcony and they were landing on ours. :\ Aside from my stay in the tower in May, I've also stayed in the garden wings twice, which were just so-so. I suggest that anyone staying at the Contemporary get a tower MK view room if you can afford it. :D

We have stayed at the Contemporary on our last two visits to WDW and were pleased.

We stayed in Garden rooms on the South Wing both times. One with a view of the grounds and the other with a view of the parking lot. It really didn't matter as we weren't in the rooms very long! Our last trip we specifically requested the South Wing again and the resort was able to fill it.

The rooms are very spacious with a nice Disney theme and we found it very beneficial having access to the monorail during our President weekend trips. The CROWDS! It's also nice being able to walk to MK in a matter of minutes. Enjoy the surroundings and rest from the fast pace vacation for a moment.

This past trip my oldest picked up a virus and was room-ridden for the last day. Nonetheless, housekeeping brought her a Minnie doll upon learning the news.

The restaurant Chef Mickey is two-thumbs up!

Although we would definitely stay there again, sometimes it seemed that the age of the rooms was beginning to show. The rest of the common area appeared well maintained.

When you figure how much time you're in the room, the great room prices, and being on-site with monorail access during a high traffic time, we definitely recommend this resort to other vacationers.

Regards,

Although it has been several years since I last stayed at the CR, I would say this is my favorite resort among the ones I have had the pleasure of staying.

The view from the Tower rooms just can't be beat. The service I have recieved there was wonderful and housekeeping was very responsive to my family's needs.

The food court was good and the food plentiful. It was convienent to purchase food from the court and take it back to the room. Having a variety of resturaunts on the 4th floor was great.

The pool was nice and the kids loved the game room.

I would recommend staying there.

I stayed at the contemporary last year. The only way to do the contemporary in my humble opinion would be to stay in the tower, with a view of the Magic Kingdom. I had no complaints about the room or hotel. You can check my hotel review along with others at review central, go to the front page on DC and click review central then deluxe hotels then the contemporary. the contemporary was fantasic, i would recomend it to anyone.
