BC concierge service, not concierge floor
I booked the FTP for a Nov trip and was thrilled to get a great rate for a BC concierge room. When I made a call back a month later to ask a question, the very helpful CM said, "You are aware that you are not on the concierge floor, rather you have a room on another floor with concierge access". I was not aware. So my question to all of you is, how does this work? I was under the impression it was one big concierge floor. Thanks for you help.

Did they tell you which floor you were on? My understanding is that all of concierge is on floor 5. I have never heard at Beach Club being on another floor, and having concierge access. I would contact concierge directly, and ask them. You can reach the Beach Club concierge at 407-934-1973.

This is why I love this website. Quick and easy answers, or the resources to find the answers. I spoke to BC concierge and the room booker. It took a little while since my trip isn't for a couple months, they couldn't access my info. This is what I found out. In addition to the 5th floor rooms, there are selected "suites" (in actuality, sl larger std rooms) thruout the building. These rooms come w/concierge access, so you have to go to the elevator to access the 5th floor. A little inconvenient, but nothing available in a std room right now on 5. So I have to decide if the inconvenience is worth the sl larger room. My kids are older, so not as troublesome as if I had toddlers to watch.
Thank you so much for your help!

Same thing happen to me I booked the suite and then found out it wasn't on the BC concierge floor. I wasn't happy with that, to inconvenient so I rebooked a lagooon view room on the actual floor. I would have loved the extra room but I perfer to be on the actual concierge floor a little more. Guess what suites us best is the route to go. When are you there were there Nov 9-16. Have you ever stayed at the BC before?

My family (wife, 5-year old, twin 3-year old, my Dad and Mom and brother) stayed at BC concierge back in June and the same thing happened to us, but we didn't find out about it til we check in! I have checked into Motel 6 where I got better service. They put us on the first floor and the concierge floor is on the 5th. I was steamed and the worst part was her attitude. That did not start the trip off the way we wanted it to.
We got used to waking up and going up to the room, but don't know if I'd do it again. But it was convenient since we had the kids and usually fed them dinner etc up there. sl |

Thanks for your responses...now I'm a little worried. Not happy to hear about the service. This is a big deal trip for us, a first time w/concierge service. Obviously it costs a good deal more than a std room. In your opinion, if I'm not on the concierge floor, should I look into just getting a std room w/o the concierge service?

jojo,
I think if I knew going into it then I would not have been so disappointed. I think it's nice to stumble up there first thing in the morning and get coffee and donuts. It was also nice to feed the kids up there, but we had already made all of our ps so we did not need the concierge's help with any planning. Bottom line, we took full advantage of the food by grabbing some cereal for snacks while at the park etc....but my wife and I agree that we would have been just as happy at the Port Orleans w/ a refrigerator and a stop at the store before DW (of course I have little ones and they snack and not really eat, that will come in about 10 years!). I think we all expect perfection when we go to DW and when something goes wrong it sours us quicker than if we were in the "real world'' vacationing. BTW, it rained every day we were there, but the kids liked being able to wear their mickey ponchos. There are some other small things that happened at BC that may be adding to my dislike of the hotel, but this message is too long anyway. Let me know if you have any questions. sl |
