Winter Dream Maker... wow

Back in June my wife and I booked a 7-night stay at OKW for Dec. 13-20 of this year. We were just getting the Dream Maker package, so when Disney announced the Winter Dream Maker package, I didn't think there would be much savings in it for me.

Today I stopped by the travel agent (yeah, I'm old fashioned. I like to sit face to face with someone when booking my vacations) just to see if the package was still available and how much it could save me. I was expecting less than a hundred bucks.

The info I gathered from my agent was that the only resort left available for re-booking was OKW, which was good. She then got the new figure and had a bit of a surprised look on her face. After she finished re-booking the trip and said goodbye to the Disney person ;phone: , she told me... We saved $906 on our package by switching! :wow: Is that cool or what? :)

Krafty -

What a wonderful surprise for you. I also took advantage of the "Winter PAckage". I had intentions of going next October and started researching prices. I do this on Disney's site by plugging in every place I want to stay and trying different weeks to see if the amount differ. I finally decided to hit in my daughter's birthday which is 2/8 and see what that rate was. I actually thought that I didn't include her in the rate that's how cheap it was. Then I went a step further and tried the week before that. I was actually stunned at the amount. It was almost half the rate that I came up with for October. I ended up getting AKL , 4 nights 5days, airfare and the whole shabang for just over $1,300. I was so impressed with this deal that I immediately booked on Monday and put a deposit down in fear of losing the price. I don't think I will ever go at a different time a year again. Think of all the extra money I can bring for fun. You should see the rate for the moderates and value hotels for this same week. You will sware that you made a mistake in entry. It must be a very slow time of year for them..... = few lines I hope!!! Anyhoo - congrats on your savings.

Dana-

How many people are in your party, and did you book through disneyworld.com? Those rates are fantastic!

That does include your park hopper, right?

my party consists of me and my nine year old daughter. Yes, this includes my passes. I know it honestly is the cheapest trip I ever booked. Yes, I did book through Disney CRO. I got the quotes off their site first. I was able to tell the CM exactly what I wanted and even which flight numbers. This cut my phone call down to around 10min. max. I wasn't able to book online for some reason. I am registered with Disney and have been for years. It just refused to accept my password.....oh well. Check it out, you'll be surprised.
