Villas at Wilderness Lodge

HI...we are booked into a one-bedroom villa at the WL for the week before Christmas week (can't wait!!). I've gotten conflicting information regarding daily maid service at the villas -- the nice lady who made the reservation said there was, but, when I called the WL itself, I was told that the "villas have their own schedule for maid service" -- I asked what that meant and the young man I was talking to didn't quite know. Does anybody out there know? Also, does anybody have any comments to share about the Villas? We've been to the WL before, but stayed in the Lodge. thanks...

If you are staying at the VWL on a cash reservation, you will have daily housekeeping. If you are staying on DVC points, you will have housekeeping ala DVC, which is limited.

Villas at Wilderness Lodge

I am a DVC member but have yet to stay at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. I would assume that the same rules apply there that apply to BWV, BCV and OKW where I have stayed.
As I understand it, if you are staying at any of the DVC resorts on points, either your own as a member or on points rented or gifted by a member, you are entitled to trash and towel service on the 4th day of your stay and a full cleaning on the 7th or 8th day(someone help me with this). If you payed cash for your stay, I believe you are entitled to daily cleanings as you would get in any of the resorts.
From what I have seen and heard of the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, I'm sure you will have a really enjoyable stay, especially at Christmas time.

Yes, Graybill is correct. If you are staying more than week (on points) you will get a full clean at the beginning of your second week. You CAN get daily maid service (with points) but you have to pay for it. I have never stayed at the WLV, but they are the same layout as Boardwalk and Beach Club Villas. Lots of room, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. I expect the themeing is a la Wilderness Lodge, very homey and comfy. OKW villas are larger, but they all offer wonderful accomodation. I'm sure you'll love them.

Did you book through DVC using points or through the regular reservations number?

If you staying through DVC, then what was posted is correct,

BUT if you are booked through the regular reservations number, then you get daily maid service just as you would at any other hotel.

thanks

Thanks to all who responded to my query. We're not DVC members -- I booked through the regular reservation system, so it looks like we'll get the maid service! We got a good deal on the Villas too-- we had originally booked a Deluxe room in the Lodge, but found we could get a 1 bedroom villa for only $11/day more -- figured it would be worth it for the additional space (as well as the washer/dryer). We'll be there five weeks from today!!! hooray.....

RozL.... I am a DVC member. You are going to love the Villas. Once you stay there you will never want to stay in a regular hotel room again, you will be spoiled.

You may even want to consider joining the Disney Vacation Club. Have a great time! :)

My DH and I have been thinking about buying in to DVC since August but just can't do it. I am thinking about booking our next trip at VWL to give it a try. I fell in love with WL this past July, I am not sure if the villas will have the same magic. What better way to find out than staying there.

I would LOVE to buy into the DVC -- but it's going to have to wait until my son gets through college --- doesn't seem right to empty his college fund for that, does it? (but maybe I'll change my mind after I experience the VWL!)

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa last year and it was awesome!! My family loved it!. They supply just about everything if you're paying cash - even laundry and dish washer detergent. The maid came daily. Some tips - if you have small children (like we do) you may want to bring some plastic cups - they only supply "fancy" glass ones and bring along some zip-lock bags to store open snacks in. Have a wonderful time!!! You'll love the big pool!!!
