Questions on the Swan or Dolphin
I can't believe that we just got back 2 weeks ago and we are already thinking about our next trip. There ought to be a support group out there for addicted souls like us...then again, maybe that's what this board is for!
For our first couple of visits, we stayed off-site. But on our last two trips, we stayed at CBR & POR and we now are firmly committed to staying on site - nothing like it! But, we are considering the Swan or Dolphin and have two questions in relation to which we'd love to hear your thoughts: 1) I am a college professor at a private institution and my wife works for the City of New York. Would that qualify us either for the teacher or the gov't employee rate? 2) Have those of you who have stayed at the Dolphin or Swan found it to be "as good" as staying at an actual Disney Resort in terms of the atmosphere, etc. or was it more like staying at an off-site hotel? Thanks for the advice.

The Swan and Dolphin are both great hotels. They have a great pool area, very nice rooms, and the location is the best. You are wlking distance from Epcot, MGM if you want to, Boardwalk, and much more!
As to your first question, you could probably get a discount for one of the two jobs. That sohuldn't be a question. As to your second question, the Swan & Dolphin is great even though it doesn't have all of the Disney magic. I found it to be a great hotel as long as you don't need everything Disney. It is relaxing. But it does feel different;) |

If you have an entertainment book, the swan and dolphin are listed under the preferred partners program which gives you a 50% off the rack room rates. www.entertainment.com The other discount might be better, but it never hurts to check it out.
Good luck. :) |

The Swan and Dolphin are wonderful resorts! We were just there last month and we loved them. If you do make ressies for either hotel, make sure you get a room that has recently been rennovated. There is quite a difference. Plus is you make going to WDW a habit ;) then you can get an Annual Pass and see if they still have AP rates available.
