Food Court differences?

Are there really any differences between the food courts at the moderates? (or even between the food courts at the moderates and the ones at the value resorts for that matter?) I've read posts in which people have raved about the POR food court but I'm not sure what it is that people seemed to like better about POR. Are there any substantive differences in food choices or layout or something else?

Since we stay at OKW most of the time, we frequently go to Riverside's food court. As I remember, we have tried some of the others and there was a difference in selections. We always return to Riverside (but that may be due to the fact that we loved it when it was Dixie Landings and it is so convenient to OKW).
Just wanted to throw out what little I know :) but someone else can probably give you a more informative answer.

The food court at Coronado springs is set up differently than the other moderates. When you enter, each person gets a piece of paper. You get the food you want and it is written on each paper. Then you are seated. You pay when you finish eating and leave. There is also a tip added to your bill here as a "waitress" seats you, and I believe refills your drinks. I may be a tad off on the details since I am just relaying things I have read. The contents of the food courts vary a bit to reflect the theme of the resort.

This past December10th,my mother, aunt, and I did our annual Christmas resort hotel hopping and we ate in the Comtemporary's food court, and I have to tell you I was very disappointed by it. It was very small and didn't have nearly the selection that the All-Star food courts did. The only bright spot was they had Diet Sprite on their soda fountain, which leads me to wonder why the ALl-Star Music's food court doesn't(at least as of last May)?

The great thing about the "Pepper Market" at CSR is that you can walk around and see all different types of food and even watch people preparing it. Everything we ate there was very good. I have heard some say they didn't like it, but we had excellent meals there.:heart

Last November I took the kids to MK and we decided to catch a bite to eat at the Contemporary Resort. We went to the Food court and we also very disapointed. Correct me if I am wrong but I do not think any of the Deluxe Resorts have good food courts.

well the akl isn't bad. however I guess your right about the rest of them. just thoguht I'd also let you all know almost all of the fast food places at disney have had chicken burgers appear on the menu's recently. now its probly temp. however there are some places that always have it, just now they are advertising it. my guess is it will go away as soon as the whole mad cow thing does.

The Pepper Market at CSR had good food. We ate their probably about once a day, and never had any complaints. A lot of people have complained about the automatic 10% gratuity added to you bill, but they do come around and do your drink thing, and are more than willing to get you extra silverware, napkins, etc. They clear your trays and your mess and leave you free to sip your coffee or color on your kids coloring page (which they got with crayons every time we went there) ;)

Caribbean Beach - I stayed there quite a while ago, and I do remember it was bright and colorful, with plenty of selections. But that's actually all I remember, sorry. All-Star Movies is a blank, and that's the limit of my experiences

while I think a lot of people like the option of being able to tip on the basis of how the service was not what the pepper market feels to be correct. I also think alot of people at the mods have no problem refilling drinks and stuff like that.

I have to pipe in for Mara's, over at the AKL. They often have specials from Boma's from the night before, and the African stew is fabulous. The selections range from burgers and pizza to intricate chickens and couscous specialties. Dessert is also a sampling from Boma's. If Boma's doesn't fit your budget or your time schedule, Mara's is a nice alternative.

They also have an excellent wine selection on most nights.

you know we didnt care much for Mara's at AKL .. I agree with gcbdad the deluxe resorts do not seem to have as much to offer or as wide a varity as the food courts in the moderate and value resorts. I found that was the case anyway at both the Poly and AKL.

I liked the Pop Century food court, but i was disappointed that they didn't have Diet Sprite in their soda fountain. I mean,if the contemporary can have it,why can't Pop Century?

No Poweraide either, which you will find at all the other resort drink stations. Don't know why they dropped it here when it's everywhere else.

You are correct here. If they had great food courts, no one would want to try their pricey sit-down restaurants. WL food court was no different from eating at the MK. It was disorganized and the wait for food was insane. I could have sat down ordered and had my food done at their Whispering Canyon restaurant (and did) by the time my half decent burger and DD's hot dog and ff were done. We were in and out of WC way faster than it took us to eat here. Sorry all...WL is my favorite but their food court is not.
