Fort Wilderness Cabins

Help, we have just booked at Fort Wilderness Cabins. What do we need to bring ie. salt, pepper food wrap etc. I have 4 boys 10 -4 and the thought of adjoining rooms made me nervous. That and $100 for the big meal of the day were deciding factors.
Thank you , Noreen:)

Noreen,
Good question...I wish I could answer it for you!

We are contemplating a stay in the cabins come December.

Please let me know what your experience was like.

Lisa

First of all, Noreen, welcome to Disney Central. I have never stayed in the cabins, but we do stay at the various villas that are part of the Vacation Club, and I would suspect that the cabins will be outfitted in much the same way. That is to say, all the dishes, pots, pans, glasses, cutlery, toaster, micro-wave, tea towels, dish towels. Usually there is one or two coffee packs and some sugar packs. I think they even have a bbq. But no salt and pepper or food wrap, or, of course, food of any kind. We always make a visit to Publix our first stop. Just curious - why do adjoining rooms make you nervous? The cabins are fully-contained, like little apartments.

Welcome to DisneyCentral. The cabins will feature everything you need to call it home, except for the following:

NOT INCLUDED are salt, pepper, sugar (or sweetener), coffee, coffee filters, dishwashing liquid (powder is provided for the dishwasher), or small drinking glasses for the bathroom.

Any of all of these will be available for sale at the Fort Wilderness store. If you think you may be needing them, I would pack them and take them with you. Here is what is included, just so you know:

Appliances:

Full Size: Refrigerator w/ Icemaker; electric flat cooktop stove w/broiler; microwave; dishwasher (w/ packets of dishwasher soap); 1 four cup coffee maker and 1 10 cup coffee maker (stored in cupboard); toaster.

Kitchen Ware:

6 each dinner fork; salad fork; teaspoon; soup spoon; butter knife; steak knife;
2 each paring knife;
1 manual can opener;
1 serving spoon;
1 glass measuring cup;
1 2 qt. pitcher;
2 2 qt. glass casserole with top;
6 each glasses; coffee cups; cereal bowls; dessert plates; dinner plates
1 small oval platter
1 Dutch oven with cover;
1 2qt. saucepan with cover;
1 1qt. saucepan;
1 12" skillet with top;

Odds and Ends:

Roll of paper towels;
Extra trash bags;
New sponge;
Cloth dishtowel;
Dish drainer;
Liquid dishwashing soap;
Powder soap for dishwasher;

I believe there is a double bed and bunk beds in the bedroom and a murphy bed in the living room of the cabin.

just wanted to add that there is a WINN DIXXIE (grocery store in FL) very close by and its relatively new as well. to get there make a left turn out of the main entrance of fort wilderness follow the road (this will be a service road for wdw) to the second light turn right onto orange county road 535 (may not be marked but the road dead ends here) this is a windy road so be careful. follow it to the second light turn left, this will be orange county road 435. winn dixxie is just up on you right set back from the road a little bit but there is a fountain in front of the store very easy to see its the only fountain on that side of the road for miles. now as for coming back it gets a little trickier, make a left turn out of winn dixxie onto orange county road 435 when you get back to the 7-11 on your right turn right this will put you on orange county 535 and go back to the second light. be careful at the 7-11 the signs say STATE ROAD 535 is straight ahead orange county road 535 turn right. yes its a bad set up in the middle of a tourist area. have a good trip

Is it all one big room or are there separate rooms? We have a 6 week old and wanted to know if needed can she be separated from the noise of the others.

Wouldn't that be a left out of the Ft Wilderness Resort? If you turn right, you will be headed towards the Magic Kingdom area.

The cabins are set up with an open area containing the living room and kitchen. There is a hallway that leads to the bathroom and the bedroom. So the bedroom is a separate room.

We have stayed there twice,and love it.The bedroom is the only seperate room,but that is also where the double and bunkbeds are.There is a pack & play in every room,but you will need to bring your own crib sheet,The cabins are extremly clean,and have a wonderful cedar aroma.It works out great for us.Besides the beds there is still the couch ,so if you had to someone could sleep there too.
