All Star Movies -or- Pop Century?

Hey all,

I made reservations at the ASM mainly because this trip needed to be more cost friendly since I am coming out of financial difficulties and I am hauling the whole family this time.

One of the reasons I chose ASM was because out of the All Star resorts this one seems to me more uniquely Disney because of all the larger than life character statues. But I just looked at the new Pop Century resort and they have some larger than life character statues too. I have already stayed at the ASM resort before.

So I am asking those of you who have an opinion to see which of the two resorts you would rather stay at? Anyone? :)

Thanks!

I have stayed at both All Star Movies and All sTar Music and loved them both equally. If I had to choose between them and Pop Century and got the same exact rate, I would go with Pop Century because I have never stayed there before. The lay-out is a little more close together and almost all of the rooms are very close to the main of things. The pictures of this resort are gorgeous too. Why not go to the trip report section and read about a few people's stays there. Take a look at all of the pictures available on disney.com. I would go for it. I have every intention of eventually trying out this resort. Not for the cost, but because it looks SO COOL! Either way, Pop Century or and of the All Star's, you are picking a winner. They are all great larger than life resort and have the Disney magic 24/7. You can't go wrong with either.

I did check out the review section, but I guess since it has only been open for a short time now, there are no reviews yet for Pop Century. But I think I will look into seeing if it would be possible to change resorts.

I wonder if Pop Century shares there bus with the All Star Resorts or if the bus that goes to the Pop Century is solely for that resort. That would be selling point to me if Pop Century doesnt share a bus, because it does add to the bus riding time to stop at the other All Star resorts. Especially since the ASM is the last stop on the bus route. :)

Thanks!

We will begin our magical trip to WDW in March for our first night at Pop Century. We, too, have stayed at all of the All Stars resorts many times and LOVE the MOVIES section! We had booked the room back several months ago and after looking at all the photos on Deb's site of Pop Century, we decided to move our ressie over there. We requested building 12, which is the area where "Tramp" is and it's right next to "Baloo and Mowgli". It is also very close (so I have been told) to the food court/bus stop area.

I do not know, but I would assume that Pop Century has it's own buses running. Because, If I remember correctly, it is not nearby to All Stars.

That's awesome. You get the value and themeing of the AllStars without the wait and sharing a bus with 2 other resort....go for it!

I had the same decision to make! I always stay at Sports, its our fav! But since most of the Meet & Greet crew decided to try it out, I decided to follow. I like the idea of it being so new still. I looked at lots of pictures people have posted, and at allears also, and I liked the look of it! I've read they do have their own buses, but that that section that is open right now is the same as TWO All Stars resorts put together. When I get back after my Feb 13-16 stay, I;ll post my thoughts. It'll be interesting to see on my *next* trip which of the two I'd choose!

Brad,I suggest you go for Pop Century. It is truly an amazing resort. The rooms are closer to Classic Hall, where the food court is. My mother and I walked from our room to the bus stop and we were in 80's A building.

Just remember that Pop Century Classic Years is the equivalent of the Sports/Music/Movies. So even though you have dedicated buses, it is still the same as sharing at All-Stars. The bus lines were long as well as the one check-in counter serving all of Pop Century.

It is big but hopefully will be staffed adequately. We took the buses from there and had no complaints about having to wait too long.
