Beach Club Villas

Has anyone ever stayed at the Beach Club Villas? We are staying there for a week after Christmas. We are taking a friend of the family who happens to have a time-share and she can transfer it to DVC. So we get to stay in a 2 bedroom villa for little of nothing.

When you stay there, do you still get to use Disney transportation? How about Extra Magic Hour?

Thanks!!:)

Check out this site for great pics of the villas.

I stayed at the BC in Nov 2003. It's a beautiful hotel and we just loved it. You get all the same services (housekeeping is different) as regular guest. You use the same buses and you get the early entry. This hotel is great because it located so close to everything. Epcot is a 5 min walk and you can walk to the Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin. The Yacht Club is right next door. You take buses to MK and AK but can take a water taxi to MGM. I'm sure others will respond with even more info for you. It's lovely I'm sure you will enjoy your stay.

We will be staying there the first week of March, I will let you know how it goes. You get to use all of the Disney things, just as if you were staying in the Beach Club, no difference. There actually are more perks if you stay at the villas, such as pool hopping privileges, discounts on Ultimate Park Hoppers, etc.

So, do you have the reservation already, or is your friend still looking? We are members of II, which is the trading company for DVC, as well as Marriott and a bunch of other timeshares. I have only seen one DVC unit available in the last 5 years, and that was at OKW. Of course, I would assume that when they show up, the are gone almost instantly.

We will be staying at the BCV during the week of January 17th. We toured them last year while we were at OKW and they are very, very, VERY nice. An absolutely beautiful resort. You have all the perks and privileges of all Disney guests, plus the added benefit of a suite instead of a room. All the comforts of home. Just be aware that you will not get daily housekeeping. (no big deal, really). If you want daily housekeeping you will have to pay an additional fee. The only way to get daily housekeeping is if you are not a member of the DVC and you are paying for the villa like any other Disney hotel. If this is a trade, sorry, you don't qualify! You will get clean towels half way thru the week. I am assuming that all your arrangements have been made, because like Mickey said, trading for a DVC property is very rare.

Actually, the arrangements haven't been made officially. She called and spoke with someone somewhere(I don't know if it was someone with DVC or her time-share or at the beach club) and they told her it was no problem at all. She has just upgraded her timeshare and she is not in the system yet but they said as soon as she is in the system( next week), she can call and book the villa. All we have to pay is a transfer fee or something.

Please keep your fingers crossed for us! :)

One More Question!

I don't know beans about all of this DVC trading, time shares, and all of that stuff so sorry if this question sounds crazy!

My friend had a big thick book with all of the properties that they could choose to stay in all over the world. And OKW, BCV,BWV,and FWV were all in the book. Because it was in the book, does it still mean that she had to trade? I'm so confused!

Mickey: You said that you were a member of II. What does that stand for? That sounds familiar.I don't know what her company is but it goes by points just like DVC. They told her on the phone how many points it would take and everything. ( we had originally planned to stay 5 nights but they told her we should stay 7 because the points would be the same regardless).

Like I said , I know I am asking too many questions but if it is that hard to get a villa, I don't want to keep my hopes up about this trip!

:dazed :)

II stands for Interval International. It is one of two big timeshare trading companies, along with RCI (doesn't really stand for anything). My guess is that your friend belongs to Trendwest. They advertise they can trade right into Disney, though in actuality, it isn't any more true than I can trade my Marriott week into Disney. It is all based on availablity of a DVC member depositing their week with II or RCI.

It is possible that I am completely wrong, which is why I asked the question, since I would like to know what happens.

I'm almost positive that hers is II. I think I heard her say that to the person on the phone when she called the other night.

No offense to you but I sure hope you are wrong!!HaHa
:laugh

I'll let you know what happens at the end of next week when she calls and tries to make her reservations.

I repeat: keep your fingers crossed!!!!!

Thanks for explaining things to me, like I said, all that kind of stuff really just confuses me!:dazed

Interval International does not trade on points. You have to put up one week at your home resort, in order to trade into Disney. Hope this works out for you.
