WL Coincidence?

I am curious...

I noticed last time I was @ WDW and visited the Wilderness Lodge, the waterfall in the WL courtyard is called "Silver Creek Falls." I know the lodge is supposed to be 'reminiscent of old Northwest park lodges,' so I was wondering if it had any relation to Silver Creek Falls in Oregon? They're pretty famous falls...and BEAUTIFUL, may I say...but I didn't know if it was directly related or just a coincidence.

Anybody know?

I almost asked the last time we visited, but couldn't find a CM who didn't look really busy. So...maybe I will ask this time. :)

I wouldn't be at all surprised, Dznygrl...I think there's quite a few places within WL which are named after famous places. There's certainly a large amount of "Whispering Canyons" out there as well.

In fact the main restaurant at WL, Artist Point, bears the same name as a famous spot in Yosemite National Park (there's a painting on the 5th floor of the WL which was painted from that spot, overlooking the valley.) You can see a picture of that picture(!) here

And just ignore the dodgy looking guy in the kilt....
