Which "island" and room to request CBR

Hi, I am new to this site and have just loved reading everything. I wanted to get your opinions on which island and building to request at CBR. We try to get to WDW every year or year and half and we have stayed at the trailers, Port Orleans, Dixie Landings, "the village", and all of the All Stars over the years. We decided to try CBR this April. It will be just my daughter, age 14 and myself. We have been doing a Mother and Daughter trip every year for the last 4 years and I recommend it as a great bonding experience! We leave the boys at home to fend for themselves LOL. Anyway we do not care about the main pool, if we use a pool it would be the quieter ones, we would use the food place occasionally to fill our cups but that is about it. We would use the beach and the hammocks, we do like it quiet at night because we are serious park hoppers and need our sleep. No need for playgrounds but the transportation is important because we do come and go and hop. Nice to have an early bus stop to get a seat and save the feet. Thanks in advance for your input!

First of all, welcome to DC.

I happen to like Jamaica the best. It is quiet and yet close to the food court. It is a quick walk across the bridge. We have been lucky enough to get in building 45 a couple of times. Check out the map of CBR if you haven't already.

Hi and welcome, I'm new also. Can't get enough of this site. So many questions and so many answers/opinions.

We stayed at the CBR in 1999, Trinidad South. It was far removed from all the others and very quiet. Only draw back was being far from Olde Pt. Royale and the last stop for the bus. The walk was short to the bus stop and the wait not all that long. If we did not want to wait, we would hop in the rental car and drive to Martinique for the bus, or to eat and then hop the bus.

The Unofficial Guide to WDW suggests Martinique since it is so close to the center of everything. They also suggest Aruba or Jamaica, which are a short walk over the bridge. They said Tinidad North can be noisy.

We loved it there and in booking our trip this year, we booked CBR again. I looked at the other Moderate Resorts and found to like CBR the best. Not sure on whether to ask for a specific island or just take what we get. Still deciding.

Good luck and enjoy.

We tried the CBR this past Thanksgiving and were very pleased with the Jamaica building. Our room was in building 45, a nice quite building set apart from the parking lot, it was a courtyard room on the second floor and if I had it to do again I would pay the little extra for a waterview room, but would want it to also be on the second floor.

Jamaica is a very short walk across the bridge to the foodcourt, the buses usually stop there first. ( I forget which bus stops there last ) and even on the busiest day we never had to wait for a second bus.

Make sure you plan a 1/2 hour or more to rent out a Watermouse, the lake is very large and these those little mice are a blast.

Enjoy ! ! !

I've stayed at CBR twice. The first time, I was at Trinidad South. I agree with the other poster, it was quite a far walk to food. My last visit was spent at Aruba which is right next door to Jamaica. It's far enough away from the food court & main pool so noise was definitely not an issue yet its close enough where you won't pass out from starvation during your morning breakfast jaunt. It's just a short walk over the bridge. As for transportation, we were in building 53 & the bus stop was pretty close by. We were there the week after Labor Day so the private pool was all ours. If you need any more info, by all means ask. I absolutely love the CBR.:)
