PO Riverside or CBR

Hey you guys just wanted to get a second or third or fourth...well anyways just wanted to get a couple of opinions on which resort is "better". My gf and I narrowed it down to CBR and Port Orleans-Riverside. I'm biased towards Riverside, but this my gf's first trip so I don't want to dominate the decision making. Any opinions you guys have that could help us choose would be greatly appreciated.

I always hesitate to answer these kinds of threads, its such a personal preference. That being said;)

We recently stayed at CBR and have never stayed at PO. PO is definitely going to be our next moderate.

If it was just my DH and I, I think I would go with PO. Looking at the pictures on allearsnet.com it looks more romantic to me.

I'm sure you will get all different opinions for this!

No matter where you stay, it will be fabulous!

I really don't think you could go wrong with either resorts. We have stayed at CBR a few times and really liked it. However, if we stay at a moderate again we are going to stay at POR. Both resorts look beautiful and are about the same size. The rooms are a little larger at CRB but I am not sure you would notice the difference.

Show your GF pictures of both resorts and let her decide.

Have fun planning!!

Speaking strictly for my own personal preference, I would have to say Port Orleans. We have stayed at both resorts and we very much preferred POR. Our problem at CBR was that we were so very far away from the food court and main building. It was a huge pain to have to walk so far just to get coffee in the morning. They both have great theming, but we liked the ambiance of POR. Just MHO. You will have a great time either way I'm sure.

I stuggeled with this same decision a few months back.

We finally decided on POR after asking around here at Disney Central.

We stayed at CBR last year for our first ever onsite stay and LOVED it! I mean LOVED it! This year we are staying at POR not sure which section yet though. It depends on your personal preference. My parents and DH love the Caribbean so that is why we picked CBR. I'm really into the Old South look so I'm excited about POR. We will see!

Having not yet stayed at CBR I can only offer my thoughts on PO. We stayed at PO this past August and it was absolutely horrible! So horrible in fact that Disney refunded our costs for the rooms for the entire week plus they refunded our money on our park hopper tickets for the day that we complained. Our rooms were not ready on time. We have a diabetic in the family, and after reading these boards I learned that Disney can put a fridge in the room for insulin free of charge. Well, this crabby cm at the check in desk told me I was wrong and that we have to pay something like $12 a day. Of course she was wrong. We also had problems with the area around our building being filthy. The pools also could have used some tiddying up. I had stayed at the PO a few years prior and loved it. That's why I suggestd it for this trip. After this past experience I don't think I'll be staying there again. The rest of my family had not been at PO before and were greatly disappointed. Hopefully, this is not a common experience, but I figured I'd throw my 2 cents in. We still loved our trip despite our hotel problems.

My experiences with PO have always been good, and is our favorite moderate. We have stayed in both the bayou and magnolia bend and prefer the Magnolia bend.

A good thing to remember is we all have our preferences, and every experience is gonna be different.
