What does it cost your family

My DW and I were discussing the overall cost of a Disney vacation vs other options ( there are other options, who knew?).

Since we have been paying for our trips ourselves ( no company reimbursements ) we have kept very close tabs on the costs. As it turns out it seems to cost us pretty much the same if we stay 4 or 6 nights ( go figure ). We generally go with 3 or 4 people.

Thought I would see how everyone else is doing. This should include travel expenses, resort cost, food, and souvenirs.

We usually spend about $5000. That's for 2 adults and 2 children staying 6 nights.

Airfare $1200
Towncar $150
Hotel on-site mod or deluxe $1680
Park tix $750
Food $600
Spending $600

Whew!!! We spend may too much money at WDW!!! But we have fun!!!

You know, it's only a lot of money if it's something you don't like to do.

A doctor bill for $5000 is much worse than a Disney trip for $5000. If you have a wonderful vacation, then why not spend your money on your trip.:)

I went for the $750 - $1200 range.

$900 being the lowest I have spent and $1600 being the highest ever. (only did that once...big time over spending in the parks)

Our last two trip were about 6,500 and 7,000 respectively. Both were eight day vacations.

Hotel and Tiks: 3780
Travel: 500
Food: 2000
Spending Money: 600
Other Tiks: 300

This was for 5 people 1 night WL villa, 7 nights BC concierge. I think it's very reasonable. Where we live, and the houses around us at Long Beach Island rent for 5,000 for a week. That's just the rent, factor food and entertainment, beach tags and you could drop 10 grand easy.

We definitely could have done WDW cheaper but we choose to splurge this time. If we had stayed in a regular room that 3480 would have been reduced to 2800. For my money I think disney is a good deal.

It depends on whether we have to renew our annual passes or pay for a hotel room. This past 11 nights NYE/Jan trip, I had to buy my son's AP and pay for 2 nights' hotel (Pop Century - $49 per night). The only other expense we had was for travel (roughly $200 in gas as we drove) and food. We stayed DVC the rest of the nights.

I try to go as inexpensively as I can. That is why I don't fly. But I always give in and spend the monies I saved on airfare and rent a car to stay onsite an additional week.

We're in the 750 - 1250 range for a family of 5.

I always try to spend less, but it always seems to end up around 1,000 pp. This year I'll plan on spending that much and it'll probally be lower!!

I am not going this year. My DD wants to see Niagara Falls again. But that's okay. That is fun also, as long as it isn't cold. Right now, I'll bet it is colder in Niagra Falls than the Red Sox are in October.

our cost varies. last august was the cheapest I had ever paid for a package for DH, me and the 2 DGD's.. We have paid as much as $7,000.00 when we have stayed at the Deluxe resorts or taken our daughter along. but I think we spend over all an average of $5,000.00, I dont think we have ever stayed less then 6 nights before ..this march will be the first time.

I depend on what we are doing. If we have to buy our season passes it higher that time but if you average it out it fall like this.

Airplane for 2 - 250-365
Transportation - 110 (Tiffany)
Hotel - 693 - 903
Tickets - 329 (season Passes 21 days use 329)
Food - 500

That comes to about $1000 per person each time we go. We usually go 3 times a year and that for 7 night and eight days each time. It great to be retired at 58.

How long does it take you to drive from MD?
I drive from CT and I stay in Santee, SC the first night and arrive WDW the 2nd day after another 8 hours driving. Hotel in Santee is about $55/night. Gas runs about $225.

We usually spend between $4,000 and $5,000 for our family on a 7-8 day trip. We budget $100 a day per adult ($50 per child) for food and the same per person for spending money. We don't go as often as others so if I am going to WDW I am not going to worry about spending too much money. Our goal is to go every other year now so we will see how our budget from the past hold up.
