Room Request

Staying at Coronado Springs March 2-9 and am curious about Room Request procedures. Can you request a room in a certain area of the resort ahead of time or do you need to wait until you check in?

Thanks!!

you should do both .. fax your room request a day or so before your arrival and remind them when you check in.. its never a sure thing but they do try :)

You can also call them and give them your request. I don't know how good this does cuz it has been a while since i stayed onsite. That is how I left mine, they claimed to take them seriously and do their best. We will see.

I would have your requests *noted* on your reservation by your Travel agent or Disney CRO. Then I would fax a nice letter requesting which section you would prefer. Do it 4 days before your trip and send it Attention :room assigner. Do not call though. They don't suggest this anymore. The requests are too numerous and get too confusing for the front desk.

Actually, the number of faxes is becoming overwhelming also. One resort has already said they will not look at any faces (Wilderness Lodge) and others are considering doing the same. Your best bet is to have your preferences noted on your reservation. When you check-in, ask if the room assigned meets those preferences. They cannot give you a room number if the room is not ready, but they can tell you its building location, etc.

Have fun.

If your request is medically related, definitely tell the CM when you make your reservation. They can list your request as a "medical request" and Disney will do their absolute best to accommodate that request.

I've made room requests via fax at least twice so far and have never had a problem having my request fulfilled. Last year I made a request solely by fax (booked on Expedia and wasn't able to make the request online) and received the building I asked for. It does work and they will try to do whatever they can to fulfill your request.

Did the room request this past Nov. at the CSR. Of course, it did not help us at all.
Last May we requested the Casita's, well we got the Rancho's. At first we thought it really was a good walk to the main building. Well, as the days went by, we just loved the walk , and the scenery back there.is really beautiful!! Well, you guessed it, in Nov. we requested the Rancho's, and got the Casita's. Go figure??? They always tell you, it is what is available. You can always call the CSR, or call Central Reservations, and try to make a request.
Going again this May. I guess we will just let the cards fall , where they may..........: I suppose if one is really unhappy with their room location, you could always asked to be moved. Good Luck!!!!! :) JOANN

Talk about not getting your request

I had the opposite happen last year. I received my requested building and when I opened the door, the room was still occupied by the previous vacationers. They hadn't checked out and never told the front desk. Talk about surprise! So I had to schlep back to the front desk and request a different room. I received a new room in a different building. (Later the front desk did offer me an upgrade, but by that time we were all tired and I thanked them but nicely told them what we had was just fine.)

This is why it is advantageous to ask about your location and any other request, eg. non-smoking, at check-in, even though they can't give you a room number. That is the time they have the most flexibility in changing your room.

Any requests due to serious medical needs, ie. those requests that are definitely needed, should go through the Special Needs department.
